The purpose of homebased / homebound instruction is to provide short-term alternative educational services to students who are unable to attend their regular in-school classes by keeping them on schedule so they can make a smooth transition back into their classes and the curriculum when they return to school. Mileage is paid at the rate set by the IRS for travel to and from the student’s residence.
