ABOUT THE COMMUNITY/SCHOOL DISTRICT:

The Cass Lake-Bena School District’s main office is in Cass Lake, Minnesota. The school district has an approximate enrollment of 1,166 pre-kindergarten through grade twelve students.

LEADERSHIP PROFILE: The Cass Lake-Bena School Board seeks a superintendent who:

  • Acts with honesty and in an ethical manner with the School Board, staff, and community
  • Has experience in school finance, and possesses sound fiscal management and strong budgeting skills
  • Is visible and accessible to the School Board, staff, students, parents, and community
  • Develops and directs an effective leadership team
  • Has knowledge of and experience with special education needs and/or a diverse student body
  • Understands the effects of poverty on student learning and achievement
  • Works cooperatively with the School Board; provides options and recommendations

Previous superintendent experience preferred, but not required.

SALARY/CONTRACT: The current superintendent’s base salary for the 2021-2022 school year is $150,000. The final salary will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. The contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statute.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION/DAPE TEACHER

This is a full time position at Northern Elementary School and Lakeside Learning Center. Applicants must be licensed by the Minnesota PELSB to teach K-12 Physical Education and PreK-12 Developmental/Adapted Physical Education.

This is a full time position at Bemidji Middle School teaching 6th grade Social Studies.  Applicants must be licensed by the Minnesota PELSB to teach Middle School Social Studies or K-6/1-6 Elementary Education.

This is a part time position at Bemidji High School teaching term 1 for 2 periods and terms 2-4 for 1 period. This Applicants must be licensed by the Minnesota PELSB to teach high school science or medical careers.
