Full-time elementary teaching positions are available with Mankato Area Public Schools for the 2018-19 school year.  Successful candidates will be assigned to a grade level/building once hired.   A valid Minnesota elementary teaching license is required.  Application deadline: Until filled.

Provide guidance and counseling assistance to students in grades 9-12. Knowledge, skill, and understanding in best practices as it relates to career and college readiness and personal/social counseling required. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Ability to understand and use academic data to drive decisions for school and students. Highly motivated individual who can work well with others and has excellent organizational skills. Knowledge of master schedule building or willingness to learn about master schedule building.

Secondary Special Education Teacher

Position Summary:
The Teacher is a stand-alone classification.  Performs difficult professional work providing a broad range of teaching and direct instructional services or specific learning programs within District curriculum guidelines, assisting students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed as a foundation for future learning in accordance with each student’s ability, using a variety of teaching and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Principal.  Continuous oversight is exercised over paraprofessionals.

Assistant Principal – East High School

Mankato Area Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal at East High School beginning July 1, 2018. MN licensure as a K-12 Principal is required. Mankato Area Public Schools is a growing, diverse, and innovative school district committed to the success of all students. The Assistant Principal will be a collaborative instructional leader supporting staff, students and families. East High School serves grades 9 through 12 and has a current enrollment of 1,052 students.

Montessori Elementary Teacher: 4th – 6th Grade

Provide classroom instruction to elementary students in a montessori classroom.

Qualifications:
– Valid Minnesota teaching licensure and certification in assigned field.
– Commitment to ensuring all students learn at high levels.
– Collaboration with colleagues, parents and students.
– Commitment to an equitable education experience for all.
– Demonstrated understanding of cultural competence.
– Demonstrated use of research based instructional and engagement strategies to meet the continuum of individual learning needs.
– Experience with Balanced Literacy.
– Ability to use data and assessments to guide instructional decisions.
– Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired.
– Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Other Skills & Abilities:
Provide a variety of strategies in working with students, and maintain flexibility in day-to-day dealing with staff, parents, and stakeholders.  Excellent service orientation and interpersonal communications skills with internal and external customers. Must understand and comply with all protocols related to data privacy.  Ability to perform duties with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
