Academic Specialist

Summary of Job Duties:  The Academic Specialist will work with students, focusing on 9th graders, in their academic classes at Faribault High School.  The primary purpose of the Academic Specialist is to improve the academic achievement of students through interventions and check-ins.  Days will be spent working with students in our study halls, media center, or virtually.  This person will be expected to work with families of students and be able to reach out to our Distance Learning students and families.

Essential Functions:Serve as a member of the High School Staff
Re-teach academic content in the areas of English, Science, Math and Social Studies in small groups
Work with students during school.
Collaborate with Teachers
Monitor and communicate student progress with students, families, administrators, and staff
Monitor and communicate weekly assignments, activities and assessments with teachers and families.
Monitor student attendance and communicate with parents as necessary
Stay current with best practices research and strategies
Other duties as assigned

Paraprofessional, Substitute, Part-Time

Lewiston-Altura Public Schools is accepting applications for substitute paraprofessionals for each of the three buildings. This school year position focuses on providing student assistance and supervision within the classroom and throughout the school, as well as various district duties such as supervision of bus, lunchroom and recess. School Van Route Driver

Lewiston-Altura Public Schools is accepting applications for a school van route driver. The position available will cover morning, mid-day, and afternoon routes, based on student needs. Applicants must have valid driver’s license, pass a criminal background check, and pass a check of their driving record. Driver is also subject to random drug & alcohol testing and annual driving record checks (in accordance with Minnesota State Laws). Temporary Elementary Classroom Teacher – Second Grade

Essential Functions: A temporary full-time (1.0 FTE) Second Grade Teacher at Roosevelt Elementary School. Performs professional work providing a broad range of teaching services within our elementary school, assisting students to develop skills, attitudes and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience.  This position commences with the 2020-2021 school year on August 31, 2020.
