Middle School Principal
The Middle School Principal leads the delivery of educational programs, operations, personnel, and financial resources within the building to ensure that District policies are followed, District and state standards are achieved, and that the educational needs of all students are met.
Job Summary:
- Fosters high student achievement and provides learning experiences which help all students meet or exceed the Minnesota standards.
- Develops a safe and welcoming learning environment where all individuals are respected.
- Collaborates with building and District personnel to implement curriculum and instructional programs that support learning opportunities for all students.
- Coordinates the involvement of various building stakeholders–staff, parents/guardians, students–in the development and implementation of policies that enhance opportunities for students.
- Conducts classroom observations and evaluates the effectiveness of staff.
- Develops building processes and procedures dealing with student learning and behavior.
- Develops and administers the approved building budget and staffing.
- Makes decisions relating to human resources within the building, including but not limited to hiring, discipline, training and development, performance appraisal, and related activities.
- Is an integral member of the District leadership team, serving on building, district, and community committees.
- Develops and directs the preparation of building emergency procedures and responses with District personnel.
- Supports the maintenance and improvement of the school plant, facilities, and equipment.

Early Childhood Family Education Educators – Starting the 2018-2019 School Year

Position Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and current state teaching certificate in assigned field; a valid Minnesota teaching certificate with early childhood/parent educator endorsement. Successful experience in partnering with families in a professional capacity preferred. Ability to work as a team member in delivering programs to address the positive development of families in a diverse population.

K-5 Summer Programming Summer Admin Internship
Position Summary:
The Administrative Intern develops building-level administrative skills by assisting the Principal and providing professional leadership to organize, administer, and provide support for the school program.
Hours/Schedule:
7:45 AM – 12:15 PM / Monday – Thursday / July 9 – August 2, 2018
This position needs to attend the summer orientation on Monday, June 11th from 8:00 AM – 10:00 AM at McKinley Elementary School.
Custodian I
Position Summary:
The Custodian I performs semi-skilled work cleaning and maintaining school building interiors and exteriors as well as grounds and related work as apparent or assigned to ensure a safe and pleasant appearance of school district buildings and grounds. Work is performed under the direction of Head Custodian and supervision of Manager of Building Operations.
Position Requirements:
High school diploma or GED (or ability to obtain a HS diploma or GED within 6 months of start date).

General knowledge of cleaning methods, materials and equipment; general knowledge of life safety procedures; general knowledge of maintenance and storage of hazardous materials; general knowledge of painting equipment and supplies; general knowledge of school board policies and procedures as they relate to terms of employment; general skill using cleaning and snow removal equipment; general skill operating standard office equipment; general skill in the use of cleaning and maintenance of tools and standard tools of the trade; ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; ability to take written direction and perform work duties with little or no supervision or guidance; ability to read cleaning supply labels and requirements for handling; ability to be thorough and maintain cleanliness of a building; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with building staff, students, co-workers, tradesman, associates and general public.
