Assistant Varsity Coach – Girls Track & Field

Special Education Paraprofessional – Early Childhood

Position Summary: The Special Education Paraprofessional assists the classroom teacher with performing duties necessary to meet the educational, personal, physical, and behavioral needs of an individual or group of special education students. The Special Education Paraprofessional’s primary focus is on directly serving students or in preparation for meeting the student’s needs. This position, specifically, would be assisting with preschool students, ages 3-5, that are enrolled in the Early Childhood Special Education program. Language Skills: Read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondences, and memos. Present information in one-to-one and small group situations to students, parents, and or staff. Other Skills and Abilities: Provide a variety of suggestions for working with students in the special education setting. Maintain flexibility in day to day dealing with staff and students. Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students. Perform duties within a tight daily schedule and with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Consistent and reliable attendance is required. Schedule: Monday – Friday / 6.5 hours per day / 8:00AM – 3:00PM

Demonstrated ability to transfer information into easily understood documents; knowledge and skills to communicate via written and electronic means. Highly developed program design, planning and implementation skills. Ability to work successfully under pressure and handle multiple and changing priorities and requests from a wide variety of sources, with attention to detail and deadlines. Knowledge of established policies, protocols and procedures and the ability to ensure compliance with same. Consistent and reliable attendance.
