Adult Education Instructor

Job Description: Faribault Public Schools Adult Education is seeking an English Language instructor for intermediate and advanced literacy classes at the Faribault Education Center and community locations. Follows district calendar, with optional summer teaching. Hours: Mon-Thurs 9 am – 12 pm + daily prep (approx. 15 hrs/week). Additional hours available if desired. Licensed teachers paid at $31.87 per hour.

Essential Functions:

Design and develop instructional materials and lesson plans tailored to the needs and skill levels of adult learners through Burlington English Curriculum.
Provide dynamic and interactive instruction tailored for adult learners, employing diverse teaching methods to suit various learning styles effectively.
Administer assessments and evaluate student performance to measure progress and identify areas for improvement.
Provide personalized instruction and support to meet the diverse needs of adult learners, including those with different learning abilities and backgrounds.
Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing classroom dynamics, promoting mutual respect, and enforcing relevant policies and procedures.
Incorporate technology tools and resources effectively into instruction to enhance learning outcomes and facilitate student engagement.
Provide constructive feedback and academic support to students to help them achieve their learning goals and overcome challenges.
Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, and other stakeholders to align instructional goals, share best practices, and contribute to program development and improvement.
Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay updated on best practices, emerging trends, and innovations in adult education and to maintain licensure.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and achievement, and prepare timely reports for internal and external stakeholders, as required.
Advocate for the needs and interests of adult learners, including advocating for resources, services, and support to promote student success and retention.
Demonstrate sensitivity and cultural competence in working with diverse adult learner populations, respecting individual differences and promoting inclusivity.
Communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and other stakeholders through verbal, written, and digital channels to facilitate learning and collaboration.
Adhere to relevant laws, regulations, and accreditation standards governing adult education programs, ensuring compliance in all instructional activities and interactions.

Early Childhood Teachers (1.0 FTE) – Roosevelt Elementary School

Job Description: (Two Available) 1.0 FTE Early Childhood teacher positions for Falcon’s Nest Preschool, a Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten site at Roosevelt Elementary School.  Qualified candidates will offer a developmentally appropriate learning environment, with the focus on cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy, and physical/motor development of students.  This teacher will also work with a classroom paraprofessional to create a warm welcoming environment for parents and children. The position is 5 days a week from 7:30AM-3:30PM. This position commences with the 2024-25 school year.  Falcon’s Nest Preschool is a part of the Minnesota Centers of Excellence Pyramid Model Innovation Grant.  Applicants with knowledge and experience in a multi-tiered system of support for young learners are preferred.

EL TEACHER – 3.0 FTE

Job Description: Three (3) EL Teacher 1.0 FTE –  EL Teacher to work as a part of our Middle School team to provide differentiated support for our diverse group of English Learners and perform the possible duties outlined below.  This position commences with the 2024-2025 school year on Monday, August 19, 2024.

Essential Functions:
Manage some of the 6-8th grade dual identified EL/SPED caseload, as needed.

Teach EL classes, as needed (levels 2.5-3.5).
Co-teaching in 6-8th grade math classes
Bilingual preferred but not necessary.
Work with the department chair to plan and implement new learning and strategies.
Build positive relationships with students and families.
Collaborate with content area teachers positively and effectively.
Work with literacy coaches to educate content area teachers on best-practices for ELs in the mainstream.

Industrial Technology Teacher – Middle School (1.0 FTE)
