JOB GOAL: Provides for the coordination and monitoring of the district budget, payroll, accounts payable, software implementations, insurances, requests for proposals and copy center. Provides leadership in the District Financial Services Office for the proper accounting of expenditures and revenues. Assists in the preparation of various financial reports for departments, administrators, and school board.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assists in annual district budget process and District Annual Meeting presentation.
Prepares non-instructional budgets as needed.
Reviews invoices for proper authorization and coding.
Provides treasury management function. Maximizes return on the Districts available resources.
Oversees the maintenance of budget monitoring systems and monitors budgets.
Assists financial services office staff by answering questions of a technical nature, problem solving, and assisting with accounting and financial operations that require a higher degree of judgment.
Responsible for annual coordination of inventory of fixed assets and other items.
Oversees the self-funded and health and dental claims processing.
Oversees the duplicating center, reviews and recommends changes to the District-wide lease program.
Prepares, assists, and oversees preparation of year-end closing entries and working papers for annual audit. Coordinates the annual audit and serves as liaison between independent auditors and District.
Provides instruction and answers questions relating to budget procedures and serves as liaison between Financial Services Office and other departments and sites. Identifies budget issues, provides alternative solutions, and resolves problems.
Implements financial software to improve reporting and gain efficiencies.
Researches and supports acquisition of grants for State and Federal funding.
Develops and maintains professional working relationships with staff, students, administrators, school board members, and the public to promote the academic programs of the school district.
Attends meetings and conferences and participates in other activities to promote professional growth.
Assists in coordination of Financial and Human Resources data processing and administrative technology.
Keeps administration abreast of new financial/HR hardware and software and recommends changes as needed to improve efficiency and cost effectiveness.
Uses and is proficient in various software applications, such as spreadsheets, databases, and statistical packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
