Dean of Students (.66 FTE) & Intervention Teacher (.34 FTE) at Red Oak Elementary School for the 2020/2021 School Year.
Summary: This is a 1.0 FTE teaching opportunity that will be a combined role of Dean of Students and Intervention Teacher. This incumbent will assist the Building Principal in the performance of various leadership responsibilities; works collaboratively to provide high quality educational programs for all students; assists in student behavior management: and supervises non-licensed staff within the building. Additionally, Plan, teach and carry out all functions related to teaching Reading/Math. It is preferred that this candidate be well versed on scientifically based reading and math interventions that will directly make an impact on students. Additionally will provide interventions in small group and one on one reading/math intervention and instruction. Coordinate intervention services. Screening and identification of students for intervention service. Monitoring Interventions, progress monitoring, and data collection.

Instructional Leadership
Assist in development and implementation of an effective staff development program
Assist with the development and implementation of the school improvement plan
Ensure the district’s curriculum standards are delivered effectively
Planning for Targeted Services
Student Management
Understand and follow district policies as they relate to student discipline and communication
Lead the implementation of a school wide student management system
Supervision of building: halls, lunch room, etc.
Develop, implement, and evaluate student management programs and systems
Address transportation issues when needed
Understanding of special education and individual education plans to help manage behaviors
Monitors student attendance for all students and works with staff and county to implement attendance plans for individual student
Facilitate the implementation of the code of student conduct in accordance with school and system policy to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment
Accountability and Assessment
Organize and coordinate school assessments
Train other staff on testing protocols
Assist in the disaggregation of the data to be used for future instruction
Communications
Communication with stake holders in a timely manner
Communicates with staff, students, parents and community about concerns, activities and progress of the school.
School Safety
Collaborate with administrative team to organize and evaluate drills and safety protocols
Ensure a safe learning environment consistent monitoring of safety protocols

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
A current Elementary Education with a Math and/or Reading focus
Enrollment in or completion of MN administrative licensure program is preferred.
Experience:
Extensive successful teaching experience
Successful prior supervisory experience in education preferred.

Knowledge of district policies and procedures, student management and discipline.
