LOCATION:
The Lewiston-Altura Public Schools’ main office is in Lewiston, Minnesota. The school district has an approximate enrollment of 750 pre-kindergarten through grade twelve students.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
The school board is committed to finding a candidate who: is honest and acts in an ethical manner with the school board, staff, and community; has ability to develop and direct an effective leadership team; has a thorough knowledge of and successful experience in school district management practices and school finance; works cooperatively with the school board and provides options and recommendations for the school board’s consideration; and is visible in the school district, accessible to the school board, staff, students, and community, and promotes business and community involvement in schools.
SALARY/BENEFITS:
A competitive compensation and benefits package, including an annual salary in the range of $115,000-$140,000, will be negotiated based upon the successful candidate’s experience and qualifications. The contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statutes.

Position Summary:
The Special Education Teacher must have the ability to develop appropriate evaluation plans, knowledge of trauma informed practices, comprehensive behavior support programs, special education due process and the ability to effectively consult with classroom teachers, parents and administration. Must have knowledge of pre-referral interventions in academics and emotional/behavioral regulation, student strengths and needs and the development of an evaluation plan to determine student eligibility for special education. Must be able to work collaboratively in promoting positive and healthy interpersonal relationships and complete due process paperwork in the allowable timelines.

Job Requirements
The successful candidate must hold, or be eligible for a Minnesota License as a Superintendent, or demonstrate their ability to secure licensure by June 30, 2020. Previous experience as a superintendent is preferred but not required.

Major Job Functions; Specific Tasks/Required Knowledge, Ability and Skills: This position will be on a collaborative team that teaches to standards in an interdisciplinary approach. Candidates will be expected to assess on standards and learning targets and provide responsive instruction. The team will works out of intentional learning spaces and instruction is planned to happen in various locations and classrooms in the building.
Compensation and Yearly Duration of Employment: Compensation will be determined by District 112 and the Chaska Education Association (CEA).
