A part-time, 0.50 FTES Grade 1 Teacher position is available at Washington Elementary School  beginning as soon as possible for the 2018-19 school year.  A valid Minnesota elementary teaching license is required.  Application deadline: Until filled.

Community Education Director

POSITION: Full-time, year round Community Education Director.

SUMMARY: Our chosen candidate must have an ability to see the big picture and possess the skills necessary to develop and lead the construction of high quality community education and recreation programming for a growing district with 21st Century amenities and spaces. The right fit for the position will be well organized, responsive to the community’s needs, and be able to build strong partnerships. The selected candidate should have some knowledge regarding the operation of a community center or similar facility. The district is searching for a person who has strong leadership skills, is highly motivated, and has the ability to evaluate staff and programming in order to meet the needs of a progressive, growth-minded district. The candidate will be responsible for working with the Jordan School Board and the Jordan City Council through an advisory council and joint powers team structure. QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience/Skills:

  • License Certification: State of MN Administrative Licensure for Community Education Director preferred or an ability to gain licensure within 3 years of hire.
  • 4 year college degree in Education, Administration or related field
  • Ability to draft and carry out a progressive vision for Community Education and Recreation based programming
  • Possess past experience in operating a Community Center or similar facility.
  • Experience in developing, formulating and implementing Community Education or similar programs and services
  • Ability to manage, lead, delegate, evaluate and supervise the activities of a wide range of personnel
  • Experience planning, developing, defending and monitoring the fiscal operations of a diverse Community Education or similar program
  • Ability to work cooperatively with various entities and individuals
  • Motivated, well organized, and energetic
  • Ability to see the “big picture” and make positive connections

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Special Education Assistant (Multiple positions)

Essential Functions:Develops and implements classroom-based, developmentally appropriate interventions for our students in the area of reading and math based upon data.
Serve as a member of the RtI team and work collaboratively with the RtI team to implement strategies, complete paperwork and/or interventions for Reading and Math.
Coordinate and implement appropriate interventions for RtI Reading and Math.
Monitor student progress by examining and disaggregating data at points in time and determine, with team members.
Use data to assist with the revisions of interventions, assist with making decisions regarding future instructional strategies and in setting new goals.

Extended Day Assistant

Grades K-8 Extended Day Assistant: This is a part time (12 month) position working with students in K-Grade 8 after school, on school release days, and during the summer.  The ideal candidate should be able to work as part of a team,  supervise and work well with students, and effectively communicate with parents. In addition, this candidate should also have the ability to plan and implement interactive activities for children  The candidate must be committed to the MPA philosophy. This position is not eligible for benefits.
