Description:   

Instrumental and classroom music teaching assignment within New Ulm Public Schools

Location:    

Shared position between New Ulm High School ( Grades 9-12)  and

Washington Learning Center (Preschool and Kindergarten)

Start Date:

Fall of 2018

Special Education Teacher – Kindergarten & Preschool – 1.0 FTE

Position Available:

SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER – KINDERGARTEN & PRESCHOOL – 1.0 FTE

Location:   

Washington Learning Center, New Ulm, MN

Description/Requirements:

The teacher will work with students ranging in age from 3-6.  This position will also include managing a caseload.

A current MN Special Education Teacher License is required with a desired emphasis in ECSE, EBD, and ASD.

Desired Skills:  

1.  Experience with behavior intervention and management strategies.

2.  Experience with social skills instruction and interventions.

3.  Experience with play-based learning.

4.  Knowledgeable in multi-tiered systems of support.

5.  Ability to organize and carry out individualized programs for children.

6.  Ability to work collaboratively with a team to collect and analyze data.

7.  Ability to communicate with parents and colleagues.

8.  Ability to train and guide paraprofessionals.

Start Date: 

Fall 2018

Wage/Benefits:

Dependent on experience; per Teacher Union Agreement; Benefit package available.

Music – Vocal Music Teacher

Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Middle School Vocal Teacher.  Responsibilities include curricular choirs in grades 6, 7, 8 with three formal concerts yearly, with the possibility of expanding extra-curricular ensembles.  The qualified candidate should have proficient piano skills, demonstrated success working with middle school aged voices, excellent classroom management skills, and a strong desire to perform diverse choral music.  This position commences with the 2018-19 school year on August 27, 2018.

Community Education – Kids World (School Age Care) and Facilities Program Coordinator

Thorough knowledge of –The principles and practices of school aged children’s education programs
Local, state and federal laws, rules, regulations, policies, practices and procedures applicable to program participant education
District operations and policies, practices and procedures applicable to the program
Skill collecting and disseminating data to support programming needs
Creating standard correspondence
Operating standard office equipment and related hardware and software
Curriculum design and program development
Other descriptors –Enthusiastic about providing quality childcare to Faribault families
Work directly with Kids World participants and staff
Some knowledge of early childhood education, e.g., preschool
Marketing of Kids World program to local community, must be available to represent Kids World at events to market the program with the goal of increasing enrollment
Comprehensive knowledge of professional practices applicable to school aged children’s educational programs and students
Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals; compute rates, ratios and percentages; understand and apply governmental accounting practices in maintenance of financial records; create and maintain a budget
Direct and evaluate the work of staff
Express ideas effectively both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with school officials, teachers and students
Knowledge of professional development practices, staff coaching and ability to lead by example
Oversees facility management process and Community Education program software
Interacts with internal Faribault Public School staff and various community organizations to manage and coordinate facilities
Interacts with internal staff to maintain the proper use of the Community Education program software for each building
Supervise school district facilities by Community Education facility permit holders and users during non-school hours.
