Physical Education & Health Teacher Long Term Substitute

Owatonna High School is seeking a Health and Physical Education long-term substitute. The role consists of implementing existing lesson plans, overseeing classroom activities, assigning homework, following the full-time teacher’s instructions, and grading tests.

High School Counselor

Job Description:   Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Licensed High School Counselor at the Faribault High School.  This position commences with the 2025-2026 school year on August 25, 2025.

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,700 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. District sites include one early childhood center, three elementary schools K-5, one middle school 6-8, one high school 9-12, one area learning center 9-12 and one education center for adult education.

The historic community of Faribault offers adventure, fun, unique dining, history, shopping and entertainment. Daily Pay Range: $259.04 – $485.53 depending on experience.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:  Thorough knowledge of school guidance counseling principles, practices and procedures; community agencies available to serve and assist students; testing materials and ability to communicate results to students; ability to conduct interviews and guidance sessions effectively and to analyze attitudes and problems objectively; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, staff and administration.

Academic Support

  • Guide students in course selection, scheduling, and academic planning aligned with graduation requirements and postsecondary goals.
  • Monitor student academic progress and develop intervention plans for at-risk students.
  • Participate in intervention and attendance tea

College and Career Readiness

  • Provide resources and counseling for college applications, scholarships, financial aid, and career exploration.
  • Facilitate college and career readiness programs such as college visits, career fairs, and job shadowing opportunities.
  • Administer and interpret career assessments and interest inventories. 

Social-Emotional Support

  • Offer counseling for students dealing with personal, social, or emotional issues.
  • Respond to crisis situations and implement appropriate intervention strategies.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful school climate.

Collaboration and Communication

  •  Serve as a liaison between the school, families, and outside agencies.
  • Participate in IEP team meetings, providing input and support for student plans.
  • Lead in the development of 504 Plans
  • Maintain timely and confidential records in accordance with school policies and legal guidelines.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a middle or high school setting.
  • Training or certification in areas like:
    •  Restorative practices
    • Trauma-informed care
    • College and career readiness platforms (e.g., Naviance, Xello)
  • Bilingual or multilingual proficiency.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations.
