HS offers 11 courses taken for college credit and 13 AP courses. AVID Program implemented in the fall of 2016 at MS and fall of 2017 at HS. Alternative learning options for students at all levels. Communities Served: Winona Area Public Schools is located in beautiful, historic southeastern Minnesota along the Mississippi River bordering the State of Wisconsin and is comprised of several district communities. The largest community, Winona, has a population of about 30,000 with three institutions of higher learning, a diverse industrial and service economy, and a strong heritage. The community highly values education and has a growing diverse population. There is a hospital and clinic located in Winona; and a range of places of worship can be found in the area. Student Population: Approximately 3000 District Budget: $49.6 million ($42 million general fund budget) with $5.1 million unreserved fund balance. The district voters recently renewed an operating referendum at a level of $1,528 per pupil for a period of ten years.
