Description: One (1.0 FTE) openings for Secondary Instructional Coach at Shakopee High School. Teacher on Special Assignment. Job Summary: Provide direct coaching and professional development support for teachers and other specialists resulting in the continual growth and improvement of instructional/professional practices in the district. This position will be re-posted every three years and current coaches can reapply. Essential duties and responsibilities: *Model ‘best practice’ lessons in the classroom *Co-plan and teach with teachers using new strategies of instruction *Teach lessons for teachers to observe, discuss and reflect on *Observe lessons and coach teachers through questioning and reflection *Plan and work with building PLC teams *Develop lesson plans with individuals or PLC teams *Work collaboratively with ‘lab classroom’ teachers to encourage risk-taking and advancement of best practices *Work closely with assigned building Principals to plan for continual improvement of instructional practices *Support new teachers and non-tenured teachers at the building level (Induction Program) *Assist with the planning and delivery of District and Building professional development *Assist with the implementation of District strategic direction and goals *Assist and support the implementation of the District instructional model *Attend regular meetings with District coordinators to align work and practices across buildings *Attend training and workshops aligned to District strategic direction and goals *Assist with Curriculum Articulation Committee meetings (when appropriate) *Other duties as assigned by the Director of Teaching and Learning

Pines is a school for students placed there by the juvenile court system. Lead Teacher Pines School 1.00 FTE – 184 days + 10 extended days beginning mid-August, 2016. RESPONSIBILITIES: Facilitates CST (Child Study). Compliance and monitoring of Special Education due process. Check Special Education files. Assists Special Ed teachers with questions. Attends all IEP meetings and planning assessments or summaries. Organizes staff development opportunities for SPED teachers and paras. Coordinates with other lead teachers regarding student placement. Facilitates Pines School team meetings as needed. Attends/arranges interagency meetings as needed. Consults with teachers and paras in all disabilities areas. Responsible for SPED budget (materials and staff development). Develops/arranges 504 plans and 504 assessments. Communicates student issues with staff. Schedules support staff, itinerant staff schedules, work days and times communicated. Facilitates transition of special ed students from early childhood. Case manage assessments as needed. Conducts para training in the fall and periodically as needed or on inservice days (regular and special-needs training. In charge of para evaluations. Organizes and runs para meetings only as needed. Coordinates, schedules and supervises all paras. Student interventions for SAT and CST and parent communications. Meets with students as needed (for students beyond typical classroom management). Other duties as assigned.
