District Accountant
This person will be responsible for handling all aspects of payroll and benefit processing for the school district staff. Qualified applicant must be able to process payroll accurately, efficiently and according to state and federal guidelines; analyze and audit pay period reports to ensure accuracy; process federal, state and civil wage levies and submit payments according to state, federal and civil court guidelines; process both Minnesota and out of state child support deductions accurately, and submit payments in compliance with state and federal guidelines; process payments for TRA/PERA, elective benefits, and federal and state taxes; calculate and process special payments or pay deductions; resolve routine payroll problems in a timely manner; ensure proper calculation and payment of sick days, vacation days and personnel days; maintain current knowledge of applicable state and federal wage and hour laws; monitor affordable care act hours for employees; maintain private personnel, family medical leave and time off records; transfer funds and monitor bank accounts; generate finance reports and related duties.
Elementary Principal
The Elementary Principal leads the delivery of educational programs, operations, personnel, and financial resources within the building to ensure that District policies are followed, District and state standards are achieved, and that the educational needs of all students are met. Job Summary: *Fosters high student achievement and provides learning experiences which help all students meet or exceed the Minnesota standards. *Develops a safe and welcoming learning environment where all individuals are respected. *Collaborates with building and District personnel to implement curriculum and instructional programs that support learning opportunities for all students. *Coordinates the involvement of various building stakeholders–staff, parents/guardians, students–in the development and implementation of policies that enhance opportunities for students. *Conducts classroom observations and evaluates the effectiveness of staff. *Develops building processes and procedures dealing with student learning and behavior. *Develops and administers the approved building budget and staffing. *Makes decisions relating to human resources within the building, including but not limited to hiring, discipline, training and development, performance appraisal, and related activities. *Is an integral member of the District leadership team, serving on building, district, and community committees. *Develops and directs the preparation of building emergency procedures and responses with District personnel. *Supports the maintenance and improvement of the school plant, facilities, and equipment. *Monitors the completion of reports, records, and communications required by the District and State. *Performs other duties as apparent or assigned.
District Wide Literacy Specialist – 1.0 FTE
WORK DAY/YEAR: District Wide Literacy Specialist, 1.0 FTE regular contract. POSITION STARTS: 2016-2017 School year REPORTS TO: Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction Position Summary: A full-time (1.0) Literacy Specialist will provide ongoing, job-embedded professional development for educators in early childhood through fifth grade. The Literacy Specialist will be in sites and classrooms frequently during the literacy block. They will provide classroom-based support to E-5 teachers through team teaching/model classroom, modeling, planning, reflecting, and other job embedded strategies. The Literacy Specialists will work closely with PLC’s and grade level teams; as well as provide large group PD opportunities in the area of literacy. The work of the specialist will support all teachers to ensure a solid balanced literacy program is in place for all learners of RPS. Job Summary: *Provide support, mentoring, and assistance to all E-5 teachers. *Serve as a resource for identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to address the reading needs of all E-5 students. *Observe reading instruction in classrooms, provide feedback to teachers, and model lessons using research-based instructional strategies around the five dimensions of reading (phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency). *Guide teachers in the use of screening, diagnosis, progress monitoring, and outcome assessments. *Meet with and support building Professional Learning Communities/Data Teams on a regular basis, including a review of meeting notes and actions plans, and make recommendations for improvement, if needed. *Support the integration of technology into the ELA curriculum and instruction. *Build and maintain confidential relationships with teachers. *Keep well-informed about current trends in ELA curriculum, instruction, and assessment. *Participate in biweekly coaches’ professional development cohort.
Licensed School Psychologist-Early Childhood

Strong verbal and written communication skills necessary to consult with child study teams, teachers, familiesand community preschool programs. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, pre-referral intervention, participating in assessment planning, conducting evaluation in achievement/ability/social and emotional/other, implementation and sharing assessment results with families. Consultation and participation in IEP services as needed. Knowledge of developmental characteristics of preschool through school-aged students required. Qualifications: School Psychologist Licensure required. Experience and ability to work on general education teams and provide collaborative special education services with general education teachers is required. Interest in and ability to relate well to Birth – Kindergartenstudents. Experience with evaluation and eligibility determination for special education services preferred. Experience with functional behavior assessments (FBA) and Positive Behavior Support plans preferred.
