The Human Resources Department is accepting online applications for the position of Kids’ Choice Program Assistant at Lincoln Center.  The position is scheduled to work 5.25 hours on school days, and 5.5 hours per day on non-school days and during the summer program.

Job Summary
Assist in providing instructional and supervisory support to students enrolled in the School Age Care Program.  This position also assists with prep work for activities, participates in activities and develops positive relationships with children, staff, and parents within the program.

Job Functions

Interact and engage with students participating in School Age Care Program
Supervise and engage with students during activities, small group, craft projects, field trips, computer lab, and all other activities.
Supervise, interact and engage with students on all field trips to ensure a positive and safe experience
Assist with implementing identified curriculum, planning and leading assigned activities.
Maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, staff, family, and program operation.
Maintain supervision, order, discipline and a safe and secure environment for students at all times.
Maintain and exhibit a positive, concerned, and accepting attitude toward all students and their families.
Assist with adaptation to allow all students to function in program setting.
Communicate effectively with parents, students, and program staff.
Work in small groups to assist all students with daily activities.
Provide a stimulating experience to help the all students grow physically, intellectually, emotionally and creatively, according to his/her individual needs and his/her own ability.
Conduct self in a manner that reflects favorably on the program and school district.
Attend all in-services, workshops, orientations and staff meetings as required.  Staff are required to meet a number of in-service training hours equal to at least 2% of annual hours worked.
Adhere to program guidelines and district policies
Under the direction and guidance of a school nurse, administer medication or carry out minor care as needed.
Assist with emergency care of all students according to program guidelines and district policy.
Perform other duties as assigned.

French Teacher – High School (.4 FTE)

Job Summary
Develop the student’s fullest acquisition of knowledge, skills, concepts, and attitudes.

Job Functions

Plan and conduct activities for a balanced program of instruction, demonstration, and work time that provides students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
Instruct students individually and in groups, using various teaching methods.  Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
Observe and evaluate students’ performance, behavior, social development, and physical health.
Deliver the district’s written, taught and assessed curriculum.
Maintain knowledge and skills with IB Program changes and updates.
Create a positive environment to ensure successful learning for all students.
Meet with parents and guardians to discuss their children’s progress, and to determine priorities for their children’s social, emotional and academic growth.
Partner with parents or guardians, teachers, counselors, and administrators in order to support students’ academic and social-emotional development.
Maintain accurate and complete student records as required by laws, district policies, and administrative regulations.
Adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Support the district’s mission, vision, values and strategic plan.
Guide and counsel students with adjustment and/or academic issues or special academic interests.
Prepare objectives and outlines for courses of study, following curriculum guidelines or requirements of states and schools. Confer with other staff members to plan and schedule lessons promoting learning, following approved curricula.
Meet with other professionals to discuss individual students’ needs and progress.
Administer standardized, formative and state mandated assessments and interpret results to determine student strengths and areas of need.
Attend professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
Understand and maintain boundaries and confidentiality with students, families and staff.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with students, staff, families and community members.
Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies.
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
Other duties as assigned.

Also serves as a liaison between families and the school district to help develop and sustain a trusting and supportive relationship that will benefit learners, families, and the district to increase learner achievement.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

Indirect Services to Benefit Learners 

Act as a consultant to teachers, administrators and other staff regarding culture, heritage and background for learners and families.
Work with principals to develop a positive building climate that leads to educational equity and achievement for all learners.
Work collaboratively within the Department of Teaching and Learning on various activities.

Family Engagement and Community Relations

Develop positive and constant communication with parents and guardians
Focused on bringing in community resources to support learners, families and the school

We are currently seeking applicants for a bilingual  teacher for our grade five immmersion program at Lake Elmo Elementary for the 2023-2024 school year. The position will be .5 FTE 5th grade classroom teacher and .5 FTE Immersion Teacher Leader.

Candidates should speak Spanish fluently, understand and demonstrate experience with cultural competency. The successful candidate will have a passion for working with and servicing diverse populations. Native Spanish speaking candidates are strongly preferred.
