Special Education Supervisor
Position Description:
This position reports to the Director of Student Services and provides leadership in the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of programs for students with disabilities at all district program levels according to State and Federal law.
Responsibilities: Oversees all aspects of special education programming and supervises staff; prioritizing and assigning work; monitoring child find, assessment and programming decisions, conducting performance evaluations; coordinating staff training; implementing hiring, discipline, and termination procedures; and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and policies.
Ensure quality programming and services by monitoring students who receive special education services in collaboration with building and district staff to ensure appropriate and effective delivery of services and promote positive student outcomes. Mediates and resolves conflicts and; if necessary, coordinates District participation in formal dispute resolution processes.
Monitors students and promotes advocacy for students who receive special education services in collaboration with building and district staff to ensure appropriate and effective delivery of services and promote positive outcomes. This includes collaboration with private schools located in the District boundaries and homebound instruction.
Early Childhood Teacher (1.0 FTE) – Jefferson Elementary School
Job Description: A 1.0 FTE Early Childhood teacher position for Falcon’s Nest Preschool, a Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten site at Jefferson Elementary School. Qualified candidates will offer a developmentally appropriate learning environment, with the focus on cognitive, social/emotional, language, literacy, and physical/motor development of students. This teacher will also work with a classroom paraprofessional to create a warm welcoming environment for parents and children. The position is 5 days a week from 7:30AM-3:30PM. This position commences with the 2023-24 school year on August 21, 2023. Falcon’s Nest Preschool is a part of the Minnesota Centers of Excellence Pyramid Model Innovation Grant. Applicants with knowledge and experience in a multi-tiered system of support for young learners are preferred.
Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. Orchestra Teacher (1.0 FTE) Middle School
Job Description: A Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Orchestra teacher at Faribault Middle School teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade. Responsibilities include middle school orchestra and lessons. The qualified candidate should have experience starting beginning orchestra students, demonstrated success working with elementary and middle school aged students, proficiency on string instruments, maintains instrument inventory, and communicates well with students, parents, teachers, and administration. This position commences with the 2023-2024 school year on August 21, 2023.

1.0 FTE EL Teacher
Job Description: 1.0 FTE EL Teacher – Roosevelt Elementary School. The ESL teacher will be working with students at the elementary level. The teacher will be providing English language development instruction to students who are emerging multilingual learners. The teacher will be working with students at various levels of English proficiency and in different instructional modalities. The teacher will be running basic language development classes for lower leveled students, and doing a combination of pushing and co-teaching for higher leveled students. The teacher is expected to collaborate with the grade level content teachers to support the development of multilingual learners in their most advantageous learning environment. This position commences with the 2023-24 School Year on August 21, 2023.
1.0 FTE First Grade Teacher
Essential Functions: A full-time (1.0 FTE) First Grade Teacher at Lincoln Elementary School. Performs professional work providing a broad range of teaching services within our elementary school, assisting students to develop skills, attitudes and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience. This position commences with the 2023-24 School Year on August 21, 2023.
