Position Summary: 
As an Owatonna teacher, you have the opportunity to set the tone for learning for the rest of a student’s life.  When students have a personalized, educational, happy experience during their school years, they are more prepared to take on the challenges of life including college and/or careers.  You are able to teach students to love learning and also how to overcome the challenges and obstacles they face that keep them from reaching their goals. While adhering to the core curriculum required by the state, you are able to find creative, engaging ways to teach students real life application of the concepts they are learning.

Qualifications:
Valid MN Elementary Teaching license. Bi-lingual skills in Spanish or Somali desired. Demonstrated use of 21st Century strategies and approaches to ensure all learners achieve the highest levels. Positive behavior intervention and supports. Experience in utilizing an inquiry approach to instruction across all content areas and a background in STEM and integration of Literacy and Numeracy beneficial.

SPECIAL EDUCATION ABS, SLD and/or EBD TEACHER

1.0 FTE Special Education SLD, EBD and/or ABS Teacher at Faribault High School.  This position commences on 8/22/22 with the start of the 2022-23 school year.

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,700 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. District sites include one early childhood center, three elementary schools K-5, one middle school 6-8, one high school 9-12, one area learning center 9-12 and one education center for adult education.

Academic Specialist – Attendance and Testing

Summary of Job Duties: The primary purpose of the Academic Specialist is to improve the academic achievement of all students through interventions on chronic absenteeism and truancy.  This position will also coordinate testing with the counseling department. (ACT, SAT, MCA)

Essential Functions:

Serve as a member of the High School Staff
Collaborate with Teachers and Staff
Work with the student assistance team
Monitor and communicate student progress with students, families, administrators, and staff
Monitor student attendance and communicate with parents as necessary
Stay current with best practices research and strategies
Other duties as assigned

1.0 FTE Earth Science and/or Physical Science Teacher – High School
