Middle Level Alternative Learning Teacher

Middle Level Alternative Learning Teacher- Part-time 
Prairie Winds Middle School

Prairie Winds Middle School has a position available for a part-time (0.50 FTEs) Middle Level Alternative Learning Teacher beginning as soon as possible.

Summary of Duties:
The Middle Level Alternative Learning Teacher will provide Tier II and Tier III interventions for students who need more intensive levels of support for academics and to develop social and emotional skills (SEL). In this position you will work in collaboration with each student’s teacher team and support staff and serve as a liaison between the school, family, and community organizations.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Under general supervision, coordinate core content interventions and supports that target general academic areas of need and/or gap-fill skill deficits for students on your caseload
  • Under general supervision, evaluate and analyze student assessment data to determine individual learning plans for students on your caseload
  • Under general supervision, coordinate social-emotional learning (SEL) support for students on your caseload and target individual areas of need.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and members of the student support team to measure student progress in core content areas and develop plans for support and improvement; act as communicative liaison between school and home.
  • Participate collaboratively with MTSS team to identify further academic or community agency support.
  • Communicate early and often with home/guardians, as necessary, to strengthen home-school relationships, and engage parents with students to support the student’s academic and SEL growth and progress.
  • Create and provide learning opportunities outside of the building to engage students in hands-on and community-based learning.
  • Maintain professional practice and development, staying current with recent approaches to improving academics and SEL for students, staff, and families.
  • Gather and track data on student progress.
    Work independently, with minimal supervision and guidance, in performing all assigned responsibilities in an efficient and correct manner.

Required:

  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain either a valid school psychologist, school counselor, school social worker, teaching license, or special education teaching license. Persons who also maintain a teaching license or who have classroom teaching experience are preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Ability to communicate effectively in written and oral forms
  • Ability to develop and compile a variety of records and reports
  • Experience with spreadsheets and assessing data, student data systems.

Salary Range:
$24,795 – $44,288 (based on the MTA salary schedule).

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, the Registered Occupational Therapist provides services to students with disabilities, ages birth to 21, in order for them to benefit from their program of special education instruction.

Responsibilities:  They plan, implement, and monitor activities that allow students to access and benefit from their specialized instruction.
The focus of these services includes, but is not limited to: academic performance, fine and gross motor functioning, positioning, daily living skills, play/leisure skills, work skills, and sensory-motor activities.

Regional Equitable Access Specialist: Special Education School Improvement Support Focus

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: The Equitable Access Specialist (EAS) serves as a member of a Statewide EAS Team and supports statewide and regional systems improvement to identify and dismantle barriers to high-quality instruction and layered support and foundational safe and welcoming school climate and layered supports for specific historically and persistently marginalized students groups. The EAS will focus on and be committed to addressing historical and persistent inequities in educational opportunities and outcomes for students receiving special education services. Through a systems improvement lens, the EAS will identify and remove the barriers in educational opportunities to improve outcomes for students, building on students’ and community strengths to increase access. EAS will partner with the School Improvement team to plan and implement strategies that address the needs of students with special education services in identified schools, ensuring that all efforts align with district and state-wide goals for academic achievement and equity. May be assigned to perform duties that match those in the Education Consultant role.

QUALIFICATIONS:   Bachelor’s Degree in education, school psychology or related field. Minimum of five (5) years teaching or related experience working with students receiving special education services and supports.  Valid driver’s license is required.

SALARY: This position is a full-time 205-day contract for the 2025-2026 school year beginning September 2nd.  Salary ranges from $74,871 – $106,635 dependent upon education, qualifications and experience. This role includes benefits, details of which can be found here.

Job Summary
Source Code Information Technology Academy has developed a career pathway with courses defined each semester of a student’s Junior and Senior year. In partnership with South Central College, courses are eligible for college credit. Teacher should be eligible to teach dual/concurrent enrollment courses.

 

Foundation courses are exploratory, and to be taught in a blended format with content hosted online. Instruction will facilitate an online community of practice and integrated work-based experiences. Support will be provided. Goal is to prepare the learner for a career as a computer programmer, programmer/analyst, database programmer, database administrator, technical writer, technical support specialist, help desk specialist, web designer, web developer, webmaster, software or software tester. Instructor will provide the learner with a solid background in the basic concepts of computer programming, web page development, web server application development, management and maintenance of web servers, and electronic commerce concepts. The learner will be exposed to major programming languages, systems analysis and software design, computer operating systems, and Internet services.
