Summary of Duties:

Salary Range:
$49,591 – $88,577 (based on the MTA salary schedule).

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown (WEM) Public Schools is seeking a Superintendent as of July 1, 2025.  Candidates must possess licensure as a Superintendent in the State of Minnesota or demonstrate their ability to secure licensure by July 1, 2025. Previous experience as a superintendent is preferred but not required.

The WEM Schools Office is located in Waterville, Minnesota, approximately 30 miles East of Mankato. The WEM School District serves the communities of Waterville, Elysian and Morristown.  It serves approximately 775 students in PreK-12th grade programs.

Summary of Duties: 
The Director of Early Learning provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and program development for district-wide early childhood services. This role is responsible for supervising staff, managing operations of the Center for Learning facility, ensuring high-quality instruction, fostering community partnerships, and supporting families with children from birth to age five.  The director ensures high-quality instruction, compliance with state and federal regulations, and alignment with district goals to enhance school readiness and early learning outcomes.

Qualifications Required: 

  • Early Childhood Special Education Licensure
  • Three year teaching experience in Early Childhood Special Education
  • Pre K and/or Parent Education Licensure

Qualifications Preferred:

  • Masters Degree in Early Childhood Special Education or closely related Field (Early
  • Childhood Special Education Experience, Birth through Kindergarten)
  • Leadership or Supervisory Experience
  • Principal and/or Director of Special Education License
