Leadership Profile: The Owatonna School Board seeks a Superintendent with proven leadership experience and skills in:
- Core Values and Vision of Learning: Collaborates to set rigorous goals, apply research-based practices, uphold high expectations, align resources, lead initiatives, and communicate progress. Expand career pathways through business and college partnerships while ensuring an inclusive, supportive environment for all students.
- Instructional Leadership: Champion innovative instruction, oversee curriculum development, and use data-driven decisions to close achievement gaps and foster a supportive, engaging learning environment
- Financial Management and Human Relations: Ensure financial stability by adhering to board parameters, leading levy efforts, and optimizing resources. Strengthen staff retention, morale, and growth through strategic development.
- Communication and Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships through transparent communication and active community engagement. Communicate transparently and leverage media to promote initiatives and build partnerships.
Qualifications: A Specialist Degree in school administration or educational leadership or a doctorate degree in educational leadership. A valid Minnesota Superintendent’s License. Three years experience in teaching and four years experience in school-level administration is required, two years district-level preferred. Demonstrated experience in managing diverse and inclusive educational environments. Proven track record of effective fiscal management and resource allocation. Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills. Ability to inspire and motivate staff, students, parents/guardians, and the community. Commitment to fostering a culture of equity, excellence, and continuous improvement.
Contract Information:
A competitive salary and benefits package, with a starting salary range of $170,000 – $210,000 which is negotiated based on experience and qualifications. Additional benefits may include Health Insurance through BCBS /Dental/Life/LTD, TRA pension, 403(b) Matching Annuity, Personal time, Holidays, and ESST (Sick) leave.
