Grow Your Own Coordinator

The role will help lead and manage a menu of “Grow Your Own” projects designed to support Faribault individuals interested in careers in education (including and especially those interested in teaching careers). This is a grant-funded position, with funding support through the 2029-2030 school year.

  • Serve as the primary contact and coordinator for all Grow Your Own initiatives within Faribault Public Schools.
  • Develop and implement a marketing and outreach plan to promote Grow Your Own opportunities across the district and community.
  • Lead recruitment efforts and assist potential candidates with fellowship applications and entry into education pathways.
  • Provide staff support to the Faribault Teaching Fellows Council and Rice County Early Childhood Fellows Council, including recruitment and candidate selection.
  • Recruit, train, and support Mentor Teachers working with participants in Grow Your Own programs.
  • Facilitate biweekly navigation meetings with middle and high school students in the Future Faribault Teachers program and HS RISE program.
  • Organize and lead Future Teacher Clubs at Faribault Middle School and Faribault High School.
  • Coordinate group college visits to Minnesota post secondary institutions for students exploring education careers.
  • Support and help supervise an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow assigned to the project.
  • Assist participants with college applications and financial aid paperwork.
  • Collect, track, and report data for program evaluation and grant compliance.
  • Contribute to all required state and grant reports related to Grow Your Own programming.
  • Maintain website and update flyers as needed.

Preferred Qualities:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Somali.
  • Prior experience in academic advising, project management, community outreach, or grant-funded initiatives.
  • Familiarity with Faribault and its community organizations, or willingness to learn

Class II Paraprofessional 2025-2026 School Year

 Job Summary:

Under the direction of licensed special education teacher and/or related services staff, the Special Education Paraprofessional assists one or more students in accomplishing activities of daily living; instrumental activities of daily living, health related functions; redirection and intervention of behavior; and other tasks as are identified within assigned students’ IEPs. Special Education Paraprofessionals may be assigned to work with students who have special healthcare/medical needs, have behavior intervention plans or require other forms of specialized care.  Assists teachers by working with individual students or small groups, and performing related work as assigned.  Work is performed under the supervision of the Teacher and the general direction of the building Principal.

 

Job Qualification:

Must have a High School Diploma/GED and or College Degree. Or must be able to pass the ParaEducator Assessment upon hire.

Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant Long-Term Substitute

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: The Physical Therapist (PT) evaluates students who have a variety of needs related to neuromuscular, musculoskeletal, sensorimotor, or cardiopulmonary conditions, which affect their ability to access school.  The PT is responsible for developing, implementing, and/or monitoring therapeutic programs and providing consultation to school staff and parents in order for the student to benefit from special education. Travel is required.  Valid driver’s license required.

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides therapy services to children with special needs within the school system under the direction of the Physical Therapist. Travel is required.  Valid driver’s license required.

Transportation Driver / Rider

Worthington Public Schools Special Programs office is seeking to hire daily route van drivers and riders to transport students. Routes are approximately 30 hours per week.

Job Qualification:

Applicants must hold a valid drivers license, pass a background check, and pass a DOT Physical in order to be considered for employment.

ABE Teacher – Adrian site (part-time)

Job Summary:

Responsible for all aspects of the English language classroom/GED classroom, including the facilitation of student learning, program development, recordkeeping, placement testing, reporting, and student recruitment. Class meets two evenings a week and is scheduled on a quarterly basis. Student enrollment minimum must be met for class to continue.

Under the general supervision of the School Principal, to maximize the learning experience of students with special needs, in academics, interpersonal skills and activities of daily living by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities, outcomes; addressing students’ specific needs; providing a safeand optimal learning environment.
