Special Education Coordinator

The Special Education Coordinator provides leadership, guidance, and support to special education programs at Willmar Public Schools. This position plays a key role in shaping special education services, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and supporting the implementation of best practices. The supervisor will collaborate with district administrators, educators, and families to improve student outcomes and enhance program effectiveness.

Special Education Assessment Teacher

Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, the Licensed Special Education Assessment Teacher develops and provides specialized and norm referenced assessments to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities, evaluates and assesses student eligibility through initial assessments and re-evaluation.

Social Worker

The School District Social Worker serves as a vital link between students, families, schools, and community resources. This position provides social work services to support the well-being, academic success, and mental health of students within the district. The social worker will assist families with enrollment, support homeless youth and students in care and treatment, address truancy concerns, and provide crisis intervention. Additionally, they will facilitate professional development and strengthen connections with community resources.

Elementary Teacher (multiple positions)

Under the direction of the Building Principal and/or the guidance of the Assistant Principal, the Licensed Teacher represents a broad grouping of diverse and different instructional positions responsible for developing lesson plans and presenting district curriculum in assigned instructional subjects; delivering and instructing students in lesson plans and instructional material; evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional outcomes and objectives.  Licensed Teachers also participate and collaborate with other instructional professionals, administrators, parents, counselors, and other district personnel concerning student needs, issues and district learning initiatives, curriculum and building issues.

Social Emotional Learning Teacher

The Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Teacher, under direction of the Building Principal and Assistant Principal, plays a vital role in supporting students’ social, emotional, and behavioral well-being within the school setting. This position provides direct instruction, interventions, and processing services to help students develop self-regulation, social skills, and coping strategies that enhance their academic and personal success.
