Starting Pay Range: $44,683 -$80,456 ($5000 sign on bonus for Tier 3 & 4 Licensed Teachers)

Position Summary:

The DCD Licensed Special Education teacher will provide instruction to students with identified special education needs and collaborate with the general education staff with implementation of Individualized Education Plans.
The Special Education Teacher will work under the direction of the Principal and in close collaboration with the rest of the Special Education Team, the Dean of Students, classroom teachers, and advisors.

General Duties
Provide direct special education services and supervision for level three DCD
students in the Center Based program
Implement functional skills and daily living skills
Provide direction to the paraeducators assigned to you
Work collaboratively with the high school special education team
Work collaboratively with the high school general education team
Initiate and maintain close communication with families, parents/guardians
Ensure due process requirements are being followed
Create goals/objectives and present level of performance along with
accommodations and/or modifications for students at least annually
Create and implement data collection processes for lessons, progress
monitoring, attendance and behavior; and use data to make decisions
Participate in other meetings or duties as assigned

Additional Responsibilities
Participate in a culture that actively disrupts inequity
Contribute positively to a collaborative school environment

7-12 Science Teacher

Position Summary: The Online Science Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, standards-aligned science instruction to students in grades 7–12 within a virtual learning environment. This role includes teaching courses across a variety of science disciplines, such as life science, physical science, earth science, biology, chemistry, or physics, depending on student needs and licensure. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong content knowledge, effective online instructional practices, and the ability to foster a supportive and inclusive virtual classroom. Responsibilities include designing and adapting lessons for online delivery, providing timely and meaningful feedback, monitoring student progress, and offering individualized academic support as needed. This position requires strong collaboration with colleagues, support staff, and families to ensure student success. The Online Science Teacher must be organized, tech-savvy, and student-focused, with a commitment to building relationships and promoting inquiry-based learning in a digital environment.

Qualifications:
Valid MN 9-12 Science teaching license required or ability to obtain

Rate of Pay:
Based on candidate’s experience and education per the OEA Master Agreement *pending contract negotiations

Job Description:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Seek opportunities to strengthen school supports

  • Stay apprised of current educational research
  • Identify personal growth plan to build capabilities and capacity to better serve their role
  • Develop strong, embedded relationships with assigned member school districts
  • Attend school district leadership team meetings
  • Develop and utilize tools to assess and evaluate strengths and needs of schools
  • Engage with school districts in their strategic planning processes, including facilitating the process as needed

2. Empower regional schools with solutions and tools based on data and research

  • Participate as a full member of the Education Solutions Leadership Team to prioritize school needs and set strategy
  • Attend meetings regularly
  • Collaborate to identify common school needs and potential solutions
  • Develop solution teams to design solutions
  • Vet and evaluate solutions regularly
  • Ensure alignment of new solutions to regional effective schools’ framework
  • Organize schools into communities of practice to collaborate and maximize resources
  • Ensure that the parts of the team work well together and that the resources of the department are appropriately applied to the school problems chosen to address
  • Participate on solution teams as assigned
  • Develop fluency in the High Reliability Schools Framework, Modern Teacher, implementation science, and other system supports

3. Impact regional schools by supporting solution implementation

  • Create and monitor district service plans
  • Assure that solutions offered to a district are integrated and aligned with district strategic plan
  • Monitor and support implementation of solutions
  • Deliver solutions as expertise and demand require
  • Advocate for educational equity

4. Integrates an equity lens into work to ensure services and supports that foster: ​

  • Removing systemic barriers for historically marginalized peoples.
  • Promoting culturally responsive practices and policies.
  • Engaging all voices.

5. Actively engages as a member of Sourcewell and Education Solutions

6. Other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in K-12 education
  • Current Minnesota elementary or secondary teaching license
  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience in the field of education, including teaching experience
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in a formal educational leadership role
  • Experience in application of current evidence-based practices in instruction and professional development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in the field of education
  • Administrative license
  • Expertise and/or experience in group facilitation

Location:

Forest Lake Area Schools is seeking qualified candidates to support the middle school development of MTSS systems of support and provide direct student support services. This is a TOSA position that will report to the Director of Teaching & Learning and Middle School Principal. This person will be responsible for developing and coordinating MTSS systems at the middle school; ensuring compliance with guidelines and regulations and providing coaching and assistance. The will collaborate with other MTSS Specialists and the Teaching & Learning team to implement the MnMTSS strategies. A portion of this staff members schedule will be to provide direct student service through proactive behavior management strategies for students based on need.
