POSITION SUMMARY:
This position coordinates and communicates employee benefits for all eligible employees & retirees of South Washington County Schools.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Coordinate flex spending program, VEBA benefits, HCSP program, FMLA benefits, COBRA continuation coverage and process monthly insurance bills.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance of 403b and 457 plan records. Assist employee requests for hardships, loans, transfers, and salary reduction agreements.
  • Process workers’ compensation claims and maintain OSHA recordkeeping.
  • Make necessary changes to spreadsheets, bills and insurance records.  Process adjustments & refunds on premiums when necessary.
  • Communicate with others in person, via e-mail and over the phone as needed.  Includes proactive contact with customers to inform them of pertinent information relative to their benefits.
  • Write letters and e-mails to employees, previous employees or outside customers providing information, data, claim status, or coverage confirmations.
  • Distribute federally mandated communications under COBRA, HIPAA Privacy and Section 125.
  • Communicate open enrollment options to employees and retirees.
  • Process open enrollment elections.
  • Process changes to benefits coverage and eligibility as a result of changes to employee contracts.
  • Respond to both routine & non-routine customer questions, problems and needs.
  • Provide employees with requested information, refunds, and assistance with complex and often very sensitive coverage problems.
  • Act as a liaison between employee and insurer on issues as needed.
  • Provide group presentations on benefit information.   Present insurance and other benefit information in new employee orientations.
  • Design & provide reports or summaries of information to customers as needed.  Create negotiation and costing models, budgeting data, census reports and retirement reporting as requested.
  • Perform all duties & tasks in compliance with legal & regulatory requirements.
  • Update/maintain benefit communications & processes as federal and state regulations change.  Includes OSHA, workers compensation, employment or personnel law, FMLA, ADA, HIPAA Privacy, Section 125, and COBRA regulations.
  • Act as HIPAA privacy officer; serve a primary contact for employees on HIPAA privacy.  Maintain sensitive records to protect information from unauthorized access.
  • Reconcile benefit amounts (i.e. insurance, retirement & TSA deductions, etc.) each payday.  Monitor benefits using spreadsheets & reports.  Perform regular audits of employee benefit data to ensure members have proper coverage and remain eligible for benefits.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Assistant School Nurse

Rush City Schools is seeking an assistant to the district’s licensed school nurse. This position would work independently in the health office in both the elementary school and the high school, working directly with students from preschool through 12th grade. The position follows the student schedule, approximately 180 days per year, 7:15AM to 3:15PM daily, beginning in the fall of 2021. The successful candidate will possess the skills and knowledge necessary to work with children of all ages, and have strong organizational and communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates holding a current LPN license, MA license or RN License, however this is not required.

Student Supervisor – Lincoln Center Elementary (Multiple Positions)

Job Functions

Supervise students in classrooms, lunchroom, playground, hallways or gym.
Supervise students participating in designated classroom activities as assigned.
Supervise students during breakfast or lunch periods.
Oversee breakfast or lunch clean up.
Clean and sanitize tables between lunch periods.
Inform maintenance of any spills that need to be taken care of in the lunchroom.
Ensure students line up and move about the lunchroom and hallways in an orderly and safe manner.
Communicate with students in a positive and supportive manner.
Assist with creating and maintaining a positive and safe environment for all students.
Manage student conflicts using established procedures and processes.
Intervene in inappropriate behavior and record major behavior issues on the office referral form.
Ensure students line up and move through school in an orderly and safe manner.
Be a positive example by modeling respectful behavior and using problem-solving strategies.
Cultivate and develop inclusive and equitable working relationships with all students, staff, families and community members.
Adhere to staff and program guidelines and district procedures and policies.
Demonstrate prompt, regular and reliable attendance.
Other duties as assigned.
