Elementary Physical Education Teacher, 0.8 FTE – #4822 Spring Lake Park

Candidate will work in partnership to build a strong and well rounded physical education program at Westwood Intermediate School.
Candidate must be able to develop and promote identified physical education skills and healthy life-long exercise habits.  The candidate will instruct and assess students, plan and participate in program development, and evaluation, monitor and report students’ academic progress.

English Learner (EL) Supervisor

POSITION SUMMARY:
The English Learner (EL) Supervisor will provide leadership, supervision, support, and guidance regarding all Title III programming and services.

INSTRUCTIONAL PROGRAMS:

  • Conduct research and a study of best practice.
  • Design and monitor programming for English learners.
  • Manage the implementation and evaluation of EL services.
  • Collaborate with principals and staff in meeting the needs of English learners.
  • Partner with principals in the supervision of EL Staff.
  • Collaborate with and support the counseling department to address affective needs of EL students.
  • Provide direct support to students and families as needed.COMMUNICATIONS AND COMMUNITY RELATIONS:
  • Facilitate positive communication processes and plans that support the growth of EL services.
  • Facilitate professional development for staff.
  • Create and maintain ongoing and improved communication plans, actions, and skill-building through online, written, and in-person activities.
  • Partner with School administration and staff to further improve and develop communication of EL services at the site.
  • Serve as the primary site contact person for EL services with students, teachers, administration, families and the community-at-large.PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Oversee all aspects of the Federal Title III application and budget.
  • Provide support and guidance toward the development and implementation of best practices to meet the needs of EL students.
  • Ensure the proper identification of EL learners.
  • Coordinate with administration on staffing plans for EL.
  • Work with the Testing Coordinator to plan annual language proficiency testing.
  • Facilitate and support the work of district-wide innovations and projects.
  • Coordinate and support the scope and sequence of EL services K-12.
  • Facilitate conversations during curriculum review through an EL lens.
  • Coordinate with other Directors, Supervisors and Coordinators (Staff Development, Achievement and Integration, Communications, Technology).
  • Work with Special Education and Teaching and Learning to provide curricular guidance and support in meeting the needs of all students.
  • Collaborate with Special Services and Communications regarding translation and interpretation services.
  • Commit to continuous personal professional development.
  • Participate in district committees as assigned.
