Full time (1.0 FTE) ABS, SLD or EBD LTS Teacher at Faribault High School (.5 FTE) and Faribault Area Learning Center (.5 FTE).  This position commences immediately upon hire and goes through approximately 5/23/22.

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,700 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. District sites include one early childhood center, three elementary schools K-5, one middle school 6-8, one high school 9-12, one area learning center 9-12 and one education center for adult education.

The historic community of Faribault offers adventure, fun, unique dining, history, shopping and entertainment. This position will provide in-person instrruction in all social studies courses offered at the ALC as well as provides support virtually for students enrolled in the disticts online school, Owatonna Online.  Candidate must possess strong collaboration skills, ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with students, families and  staff.  A desire to pursue instructional strategies to improve student learning both in-person and virtually is necessary.

  • be knowledgeable of and comfortable with school finance and maintaining a healthy budget,
  • have an understanding of strategic planning and special education,
  • work to acquire a broad understanding of the educational needs and culture of the school and community,
  • have an appreciation of the goals, theories, and trends of public education, and the knowledge by which these can best be put into effect at ISD 91,
  • be the champion of our district, and
  • preferably have previous superintendent experience.
