Education/Certification Requirements:  Ph.D., Ed.D, or Specialist preferred, Master’s degree required, major in educational administration with emphasis in instructional programming E-12.
One or more of the following Minnesota Department of Education license areas required:  K-12 principal, elementary principal, secondary principal, or curriculum coordinator.
Hold or be eligible for licensure as a superintendent in Minnesota.
Experience Requirements:Successful teaching and principal experience required.
Successful experience in a district level position preferred.
Professional experiences consistent with the responsibilities of the position.

School Psychologist

Job Summary: The School Psychologist provides a full range of psychological services to support the academic and behavioral needs of students at Simley High School and Sale Hills Elementary School
Essential Duties and  Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation to staff and parents for improving students’ academic and behavioral success through pre-referral interventions, observations, and classroom strategies.
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving academics and students’ behavior including collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data in the classroom and other school settings, using systems such as RtI and PBIS.
  • Participate in and conduct training for district staff on aspects of problem-solving including data collection and analysis, cultural competence in assessment, and positive behavioral supports.
  • Assist school staff in the identification of students with disabilities ages birth through 21, including ELL students, through participation in pre-referral activities, child study committees and consultation activities, and in planning appropriate assessment and reassessment procedures for students.
  • Administer intellectual, social/emotional, adaptive behavior, and other normed referenced instruments including scoring and interpretation providing both written and oral reports to parents, students, and professionals.
  • Administer and interpret informal assessments including parent, teacher and student interviews, observations in the classroom and other settings to aid in supporting results from formal assessments.
  • Assist school staff with due process procedures including eligibility requirements, parent rights, and record keeping.
  • Assist in school district projects or special activities that require consultation and/or direct services of a school psychologist.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day, 185 days per year

Orchestra Teacher (1.0 FTE) Middle School

Job Description:  A Full-Time (1.0 FTE) Orchestra teacher at Faribault Middle School teaching 6th, 7th and 8th grade.  Responsibilities include middle school orchestra and lessons.  The qualified candidate should have experience starting beginning orchestra students, demonstrated success working with elementary and middle school aged students, proficiency on string instruments, maintains instrument inventory, and communicates well with students, parents, teachers, and administration.  This position commences with the 2020-2021 school year on August 24, 2020.

Description:
This is a full-time social worker position working at Hilltop Elementary School.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison between families and the school to positively promote collaborative processes in education planning for students by encouraging parent/guardian participation in the school setting.
  • Provide small group sessions to students based on needs determined at the building level.
  • Collaborate with school staff and other school system personnel in implementing strategies to promote student learning.
  • Participate as a member of the IEP and other school-based teams to develop interventions for promoting students’ academic success as requested.
  • Serve on both school-based and system-wide committees to address educational issues, adjustment problems, safety issues, and program development for students as requested.
  • Provide crisis intervention.
  • Provide staff consultation on behavioral/emotional/environmental issues affecting student participation in the learning process.
  • Conduct staff development on issues related to social/emotional/environmental factors that impact learning.
  • Conduct classroom meetings, social skills groups, and classroom presentations on identified areas of concern for the students.
  • Maintain required records and submit appropriate documents for statistical reports.
  • Conduct home visits related to establishing communication and positive connections between the parent/guardian and school setting around identified issues as requested.
  • Serve as a liaison with community agencies and assist in fostering communication between schools, parents/guardians, and community leaders.
  • Attend local collaborative and additional meetings and professional development activities, including specific parent-teacher conferences as requested.
  • Collaborate with other providers to problem-solve solutions regarding student-family issues.
  • Link families to appropriate mental health providers and other community resources.
  • All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
