Owatonna High School has implemented a program designed to support students within the school with academic, social/emotional and personal supports.  The counselor provides ongoing guidance and daily tools for students to help within our systems of intervention and teach needed tools for success leading to college and career readiness.

Qualifications:
Valid Minnesota Guidance & Counseling or School Counselor licensure. Bachelor’s degree with coursework in School Guidance Counseling, or related field and moderate experience.  Master’s degree preferred.

Days/Hours: Monday – Friday 8 hrs/day
Responsible To:  Director of Equity and Inclusion

Position Purpose: Support the district’s efforts and implementation of the Achievement and Integration Plan, which will include consultation with administrators/staff, facilitating trainings and coaching, supporting staff in their cultural competence development, and providing opportunities for student leadership. Serve as a liaison to district departments to provide consultation in regard to efforts.

Required Qualifications: See attachment-  Additional experience requirements: 5 years directly related to increasing the achievement of students through educational equity support, 5 years conducting professional development for staff about racial equity; 5 years of a strong background in leading diversity, equity and inclusion efforts; experience in early childhood – 12th grade settings; experience in multicultural affairs and student leadership development with an emphasis on eliminating barriers and disparities; 3 years of supervisory experience in related fields will be considered.

Bldg Assessment/Tech Supp Specialist

Job Summary:
– Respond to Ongoing technology needs for staff
– Build and maintain positive relationships with the building community, including staff and students
– Use a strong understanding of instructional technology to best meet the learning needs of all students
– Manage building printers, including troubleshooting and installing drivers
– SMART board configuration and troubleshooting
– Support set up for event programming such as A/V equipment
– Assist with generating messaging through the Blackboard system
– Work with district technology staff to coordinate building technology requests

– Attend relevant district trainings and meetings

English Language Arts Teacher (2021-2022) School Year

This position is the sole language arts position at the ALC.  The teacher is responsible for teaching English 9, English 10, English 11 and English 12 in a traditional and blended learning environment.  The teacher is also responsible for monitoring the progress of students who choose to pursue their credit through Edgenuity online curriculum.  A strong background in reading strategies is desired.  The applicant should be adept at differentiation of content and instruction in order to include student voice and choice.  A strong sense of equity and the ability to build relationships is essential.

 

Math Teacher (School Year 2021-2022)

This position is the sole mathematics position at the ALC.  The teacher is responsible for teaching Intermediate Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2 in a traditional and blended learning environment.  The teacher is also responsible for monitoring the progress of students who choose to recover credits through Edgenuity, which is an online curriculum.  A strong background in math and problem solving strategies is desired.  The applicant should be adept at differentiation of content and instruction in order to include student voice and choice.  A strong sense of equity and the ability to build relationships is essential.
