Special Education Teachers

The Cannon Valley Special Education Cooperative is seeking multiple special education teachers for the 2020-2021 school year. These positions are at the Setting IV programs serving students in elementary and secondary grades with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disabilities, and/or Developmental/Cognitive Disabilities.

The special education teacher will be responsible for:
– providing direct instruction to students in academics, social skills, and specific IEP goals
– attending the building child study meetings
– providing support to staff, students, and parents
– conduct evaluations for students on caseload
– lead team meetings to develop the IEP
– keeping data on student progress
– collaborate with other staff, families, and outside agencies
– maintain the IEP and due process documents
– ensuring due process procedures are followed

Skills/Qualifications:
– MN Teaching License in the area of EBD, ASD, DD additional licensure areas will be considered
– Experience working with students with EBD and/or ASD and/or DD
– Strong interpersonal communication skills
– Maintain confidentiality

– Knowledge of interventions and strategies in disability areas

2020-21 Graduate Teaching Fellowships

Minnesota State University, Mankato

Openings are available for the Graduate Teaching Fellow Program (classroom experience while working on a masters degree program in Education).  Applicants must have a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Teaching degree.

Seniors in a teacher education program who will complete all requirements for a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science Teaching degree, complete all required testing, and obtain appropriate Minnesota teacher licensure by August, 2020, or recent teacher education graduates (who have not held regular teaching appointments) are eligible to apply.  Application deadline:  until filled.
