Requirement: Must have MN licensure in school social work, school psychology, special education teaching, or administration. Previous experience working with at-risk students required.
Applicants must possess:
Ability and skills to relate positively to students
Ability to work effectively with parents, teacher teams, and other support staff
Creativity to develop positive strategies and interventions to support students’ learning
Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
Working knowledge of data driven decision making models
While working with our team, this SSA will also:
Provide social, emotional, and behavioral intervention consultation with students and families
Provide referrals to families to partnering community organizations for needs such as mental health, physical health or social work
Provide social, emotional, and behavioral intervention consultation with classroom teachers
Promptly respond to student support needs, prioritizing multiple building needs each day. ? Develop and manage 504 plans
Provide social skill support for students individually or through groups
Help with PBIS/PAWSS team leadership
Communicate with parents and school staff about social, emotional, and behavioral progress
Attend Student Support Team meetings ; provide coaching for teachers on providing tier I and II classroom supports
Provide teacher training and support for social, emotional and behavioral management
Collaborate and effectively communicate with another SSA, Office Staff, Teachers, support staff and building principal around specific student support plans
The above tasks are general to this position. Specific duties will be determined and delegated under direction of the Principal.
