Position Description:
Candidates selected to fill the role of Orchestra Teacher at Central Middle School will be given the great responsibility of continuing our long standing commitment to academic excellence.  This will be achieved through the design and delivery of music instruction that ensures the success of a diverse population of learners.  In addition, you will be responsible for building positive relationships and working collaboratively with students, parents, and staff members to foster a positive experience for the entire learning community.

Qualifications:Must have a valid MN License in middle school orchestra.
Ideal candidates should have experience with multiple instructional designs and differentiated strategies that support diverse learners.
Must have strong classroom management skills with the ability to maintain a positive learning environment.
Must have the ability to build positive working relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Must be proficient with current technology used to support communication, academics, and student progress monitoring.
Ideal candidate will have experience with string instruments.

in personalizing learning for students, meeting academic, social, and emotional needs and aspirations so that each student feels valued and has a sense of belonging, leading to academic success.

Primary Responsibilities:

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to…creating and delivering ability and age appropriate lessons in a setting 3 classroom;
leading a team of paraprofessionals in meeting students’ needs;
communicating with parents to provide regular updates on student successes and challenges;
collaborating with principals, special education coordinator and staff, and professional learning communities, to ensure student needs are being met;
maintain student records of services provided, following Due Process best practices and compliance;
acting as a Case Manager for students in your classroom and participate in IEP and evaluation summary meetings; and
perform other related duties, as assigned.
