Director of Educational Technology and Information Systems

Mankato Area Public Schools has a position as Director of Educational Technology and Information Systems available beginning as soon as possible.  District 77 is located in South Central Minnesota serving 8,600 students with over 1,400 full-time staff.

Job Summary: The Director of Educational Technology and Information Systems is responsible for providing leadership in the identification, assessment, and management of technology needs for the school system; directing, coordinating, supervising, facilitating, or performing all tasks and elements needed to effect the comprehensive integration of appropriate technology into every facet of operations; and contributing to the integration of educational technology into classrooms, media centers, and district offices by providing professional leadership in all areas of technology planning and technology resource management.

Qualifications:
1.     Holds a Bachelor’s degree and has extensive experience with coursework in Education or Education
Administration. Master’s degree or equivalent educational/technology experience preferred.
2.     Has at least five years of experience in a related field
4.     Has demonstrated evidence of educational and/or technology leadership
5.     Has demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, parents, and community

Secondary Curriculum Coordinator

Special Education (ASD/DCD/ABS) Teacher – Elementary (2020-2021 School Year)

Position Summary:
The Teacher is a stand-alone classification.  Performs difficult professional work providing a broad range of teaching and direct instructional services or specific learning programs within District curriculum guidelines, assisting students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed as a foundation for future learning in accordance with each student’s ability, using a variety of teaching and learning methods at various levels to a targeted audience, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Principal.  Continuous oversight is exercised over paraprofessionals.

Qualifications:
A valid Special Education (ASD/DCD/ABS) teaching license issued by the Minnesota Department of Education (consideration of all Special Education categories). Consistent and reliable attendance is required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of the specific special education category for which licensed
Knowledge of special education teaching philosophy.
Knowledge of the special education curriculum for area(s) the teacher is responsible for instructing.
Knowledge of teaching and learning strategies to meet a wide range of student learning styles and abilities within the special education student population.
Knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to special education; knowledge of due process compliance.
Knowledge of multicultural, gender and disability fair curriculum concepts.
Knowledge of research and trends in teaching and learning styles.
Knowledge of instructional technologies.
Strong skills in classroom presentation and management.
Strong interpersonal skills to include the ability to work effectively with students, parents, district staff and community members from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and writing.
Ability to plan and implement lessons based upon district and school’s goals and objectives.
Ability to modify classroom assignments to address varying student needs.
Ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse student populations.
Ability to evaluate student performance and to present evaluations in a manner that fosters higher student achievement.
Ability to work in a cooperative learning environment.
Ability to utilize computer and multimedia technology as appropriate
