Woodland Elementary School “Leaves of Learning” is seeking a dedicated and passionate Certified Family Engagement & SEL Intervention Specialist to join our team.

The Certified Family Engagement and Social Emotional Learning (SEL) Interventionist for the elementary level supports the academic, emotional, and behavioral development of young learners by building strong family-school partnerships and implementing age-appropriate SEL interventions. This position focuses on fostering a safe, inclusive, and emotionally supportive learning environment for students in grades K–5 while empowering families to engage actively in their children’s education.

Key Responsibilities:

Family Engagement:
Develop and implement strategies to engage families in their children’s education.
Facilitate parent workshops, family events, and training on academic support and SEL practices.
Serve as a liaison between the school and families.
Collaborate with community organizations to provide resources and services to students and families.

Social Emotional Learning (SEL):
Deliver direct SEL instruction to students in individual, small group, or classroom settings.
Support school-wide implementation of evidence-based SEL programs and practices.
Assist teachers and staff with integrating SEL into daily classroom routines.
Monitor and evaluate student progress on SEL competencies and provide targeted interventions.

Collaboration and Leadership:
Participate in the MTSS SEL team to identify student needs and develop intervention plans.
Provide professional development for school staff on family engagement strategies and SEL.
Maintain detailed documentation of interventions, family outreach, and student progress.
Uphold confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions.

Skills and Competencies:
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to collect and analyze data to inform interventions.
Leadership and facilitation skills for engaging families and leading workshops.
Familiarity with SEL frameworks, behavior intervention strategies, and family systems theory.

Work Environment:
School-based setting with occasional home visits and community outreach.
Flexible hours may be required for evening/weekend family events or meetings.

Additional Duties As Assigned:

Supervise students during the school day according to the established building
schedule; provide indirect supervision during regular school days.
Collaborate with staff in evaluating individual student issues
Participate in meetings (building staff meetings, departmental meetings, grade level
meetings, staff development, open house/orientation) as necessary or required;
attend professional development activities.

Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in education, counseling, psychology, social work, or related discipline.
Preferred:
Certification or training in trauma-informed practices, restorative justice, or SEL curriculum (e.g., CASEL-aligned programs)
Coursework, certification or experience with family and community engagement

Compensation: $48,229-$81,034 – follows the Teacher Salary Schedule

Cultural Liaison

Job Summary: The Cultural Liaison will be responsible for collaborating with six member-school districts to implement the achievement and integration programs sponsored by Nobles County Integration Collaborative.  The Cultural Liaison will serve as the liaison with member school districts and diverse cultural groups in the NCIC area.  This position is responsible for data for use on board and state reports.  We are seeking someone with a passion for education equity and cultural integration.  Employee must have strong organization and communication skills.  Bilingual skills are required.  This is a full-time position, with occasional evening and weekend hours.

Position Purpose: Under supervision of the School Principal and Director/Supervisor of Special Services, the Occupational Therapist will work to maximize the learning experience for students with disabilities or physical/mental impairments by developing individualized programming based on occupational performance deficits in activities of daily living, including personal care, interaction skills, community integration, work, and communication.

Compensation/Benefit Information:

·  Salary range per the 2024-2026 Ed Mn Hastings – Teacher Master Agreement – $46,143 – $82,658

Qualifications:

·  State Certification to practice as evidenced by current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.

·  Initial certification by National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).

·  Education: Bachelors from an accredited college or university in related field with an accredited program of occupational therapy recognized by NBCOT.

Essential Functions:

·  Develops, implements and coordinates the school district’s occupational therapy program within the school district, including philosophy, vision, procedures and goals.

·  Screens, evaluates and monitors students with disabilities or physical mental impairments for the purpose of providing educational programs, therapeutic intervention, and transition and exit planning and enhancing their ability to perform activities of daily living or participate in desired occupations.

·  Collaborates with staff to ensure team understanding of student occupational performance strengths and needs, as well as student outcomes.

·  Evaluates the student’s ability and formulates the student’s occupational profile, providing written reports that reflects strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational environment and guides evidence-based intervention.

·  Participates in the development of Individualized Education Programs.

·  Provides targeted, evidence-based therapeutic intervention to facilitate student participation and occupational performance within the school environment.

·  Assesses the need for assistive technology and equipment and makes recommendations for its use at school to help students function as independently as possible.

·  Documents occupational therapy services, and maintains records in accordance with school district policies, as well as state and federal laws and regulations.

·  Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants as needed.

·  Plans, coordinates, and conducts continuing education for school staff, parents, and students.

·  Continues to acquire professional knowledge and learn of current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research, and by maintaining professional relationships.

Additional Duties

·  Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal, Director/Supervisor of Special Services, and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.
