Position Overview:

1.0 FTE Special Education teaching position to work with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) at Spring Lake Park High School, grades 9-12.

in the need to work in partnership with staff to continuously improve practices to enhance student and family engagement, creating the conditions for equity, excellence and student success; and
in personalizing learning for students, meeting academic, social, and emotional needs and aspirations so that each student feels valued and has a sense of belonging, leading to academic success.

Primary Responsibilities:

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to…creating and delivering ability and age appropriate lessons in a setting 3 classroom;
leading a team of paraprofessionals in meeting students’ needs;
communicating with parents to provide regular updates on student successes and challenges;
collaborating with principals, special education coordinator and staff, and professional learning communities, to ensure student needs are being met;
maintain student records of services provided, following Due Process best practices and compliance;
acting as a Case Manager for students in your classroom and participate in IEP and evaluation summary meetings; and
perform other related duties, as assigned.

Experience:

Desired previous experience/knowledge includes…successfully working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) and a strong desire to do so;
writing solid Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
applying current trends in the field of behavior interventions and support;
utilizing standardized assessment tools;
effectively collaborating with a team; and
constructively communicating with parent/guardian and team members.

Head Coach, Varsity Boys Hockey #4160

Season Dates:  November 11, 2019 – March 7, 2020

Duties:  Oversee all aspects of the Spring Lake Park High School boy’s hockey program including but not limited to setting up practices, games, and schedules for the program; supervision of athletes at practices and games.; care and maintenance of program equipment; arranging team transportation; willingness to work in collaboration with the Spring Lake Park Youth Hockey Association, with booster club and regular meetings with other coaches to evaluate goals of the overall program.  Must be able to adjust work schedule for practices and games.

Executive Director of Community Engagement and Public Relations

The Executive Director of Community Engagement and Public Relations manages the strategic planning, development, and oversight of family engagement and community relations for Moorhead Area Public Schools.  Oversees strategic initiatives for outreach, positive engagement, and true partnership with families and the broader community of stakeholders to meet targets and objectives related to the Community Education Programming and Public Relations with the Moorhead Area Public Schools Experience. Provides a unified, non-conflicting image to the public with information of public interest in accordance with the law and School Board policies and procedures under the direction of the Superintendent.

Candidates must have experience in public relations and community engagement, with proven leadership abilities in the areas of media and communications. Successful candidates must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff and citizens; ability to manage fiscal, physical, and human resources to successfully carry out the function and programs of the office; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

A bachelor’s degree in communications, media relations, education, or related field and  a minimum of five years of successful experience in communication, public information management and communications, preferably in a K-12 setting is required. A masters degree in a relevant field, supervisory experience and experience administering community education programs or activities is preferred.

Licensure as a Community Education Director by the Minnesota Department of Education or the ability to obtain is preferred.

Competitive salary plus benefits. This position falls in the A3 lane of the attached Administrator Contract.

Assistant Principal, High School

Assistant Principal, Moorhead High School

Job Description: Assists the principal in the performance of various leadership responsibilities; works together with Central Office Team to provide high quality educational programs for all students; and supervises personnel within the individual school. The specific duties are assigned by the principal and the decision-making authority related to such assignments are established in the team working situation.

Education and Experience:

Master’s Degree in education or school administration.
Five years teaching experience at the secondary school level, related education specialty, supervision or administration; equivalent education and experience in secondary education.
Hold or be eligible for a MN Principal License

Band/Grade:
P2: Starting salary $91,676, depending on experience.  Refer to full salary schedule in Master Agreement.
