General Definition of Work
Performs difficult professional work teaching in an elementary or secondary school instructional program and class environment favorable to learning; teaching a broad range of subjects or specialized subject matter(s); teaching special needs students; motivating students to achieve maximum potential, and related work as apparent or assigned.  Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Principal.

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in teaching, or related field teaching and working with children, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Special Requirements
Appropriately licensed by MDE; MN Teaching License
Experience working in a multi cultural setting and with diverse groups of people preferred.
Alternatives to the qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable will also be considered.

Position is a 1.0 FTE (benefit eligible).

Position begins August 21, 2019.

Qualification Requirements

Essential Functions
Develops lesson plans and instructional materials; develops Individual Educational Programs and Evaluation Reports (IEP’s) for special needs and regular students.
Translates lesson plans into effective learning experiences; integrates subject area content and technology.
Adapts teaching materials and methods to develop relevant sequential assignments that guide and challenge students.
Instructs students in specialization and subject matter areas specified in state law and administrative regulations and District procedures.
Develops standards for critical analysis through group discussions.
Assesses and evaluates students needs; provides instruction in individual or group sessions; acts as a mentor to students; establishes and maintains behavior standards.
Formulates and implements behavior modification programs for students.
Administers standardized tests in accordance with established procedures.
Encourages students to think independently along with developing and expressing original ideas.
Evaluates students’ progress; maintains records; prepares progress reports.
Communicates with students, counselors and parents through conferences and other means.
Maintains professional licensing and familiarity through in-service education and self-selected professional books and instructional materials.
Selects and requisitions books and instructional materials; organizes and distributes classroom and materials.
Participates in curriculum development programs, faculty committees and student activity sponsorship as required.
Meets state and federal mandated time lines and procedures for completing special education due process paperwork.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Thorough knowledge of subject(s) taught; thorough knowledge of elementary, secondary or special education principles, practices and procedures; thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of effective teaching; thorough knowledge of district rules, regulations and procedures; ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior; ability to deliver articulate oral presentations and written reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and parents.

Physical Requirements
This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires standing and speaking or hearing, frequently requires walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel and reaching with hands and arms and occasionally requires sitting, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling, lifting and repetitive motions; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data, operating machines and observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment and exposure to bodily fluids; work is generally in a loud noise location (e.g. grounds maintenance, heavy traffic).

Safety Coordinator

JOB GOAL: To administer an effective safety programs for the Grand Forks school district.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Responsible for directing and coordinating a district wide safety program.
2. Research, develop and implement safety programs to enhance, encourage and promote safe work
rules, practices and conditions; and to prevent, detect and correct unsafe practices and conditions.
3. Review, interpret and communicate school district, local, state and federal safety regulations to
ensure understanding and compliance.
4. Conduct health and safety meetings and training workshops with various employee groups to
educate and motivate employees concerning safety.
5. Partner with Workforce Safety & Insurance to develop and implement a Safety Management
Program which includes safety training, facility inspections, and accident investigation program.
6. Investigate job related safety hazards and write a detailed Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for each job.
7. Comply with Workforce Safety & Insurance recommendations to achieve a reduction in workforce
injury rates.
8. Implement and direct the hazard communication program including managing the Safety Data
Sheets (SDS) for hazardous material.
9. Implement and direct the safe drivers program for employees driving company or personal light
vehicles or trucks on the job.
10. Maintain an inventory of all emergency and hazardous waste materials.
11. Monitor and maintain an asbestos/radon program that meets the Employee Right to Know
requirements.
12. Coordinate with school administration, a review of educational delivery systems and information
being delivered to students regarding safety topics. Recommend as necessary changes in safety
related information being delivered to students.
13. Partner with the Human Resources Department to coordinate and promote an employee wellness
program.

Behavior Intervention Coordinator

• Set goals for behavioral changes, monitor students, assess progress and modify behavioral
plans in conjunction with IEP and/or MTSS teams.
• Provide behavioral support and collaboration to teachers and school staff
• Observe students across their educational environments
• Record and analyze appropriate data to monitor student progress in identified areas
• Member of the MTSS Leadership Committee
• Support teachers with the implementation of the school-wide MTSS plan with an emphasis on
behavioral interventions and modeling strategies to help students reset
• Works directly with students who are dysregulated
• Manage, monitor, and analyze assessment and SWIS data
• Helps coordinate plans that address students’ inappropriate behaviors and provide a means to
help the students become more academically successful.
• Provide recognition of a variety of student accomplishments and positive behaviors.
• Work cooperatively with building administrators to promote positive student behavior by
providing professional development that targets research, strategies and modeling of
instructional practices to support teachers in their implementation of positive behavior support in
their classrooms.
• Meet with parents as needed and provide techniques to support the positive behavior
development of their child.

Title I Coordinator – Elementary

leading a team of paraprofessionals in implementing targeted behavior plans;
communicating with parents to provide regular updates on student successes and challenges;
