TITLE:                          Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Elementary School Principal

 

QUALIFICATIONS:       Minnesota K-12 Principal License

 

REPORTS TO:              Superintendent

 

SUPERVISES:               PK-5 Staff

PK-5 Students

 

JOB GOAL:                  Provides leadership, supervision, and professional judgement in accomplishing the educational goals and policies as established by the Board of Education and directed by the Superintendent.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBLITIES:

1.     Assumes responsibility in the administration, supervision, and evaluation of the BLHS Elementary School Program as it relates to standards of achievement, student welfare and safety, student records and reporting, student discipline and attendance, and the general progress of the school.

 

2.     Assumes responsibility for the recruitment, training, and evaluation of instructional personnel at the PK-5 elementary school level.

 

3.     Supervises student progress and reporting to parents.

 

4.     Develops positive public relations among students, faculty, staff, community members and administrative personnel.

 

5.     Administers procedures for the operation of building facilities and equipment.

 

6.     Administers the school budget as established by the Board of Education and directed by the Superintendent.

 

7.     Assumes responsibility for the administration of a student-management program at the PK-5 level.

 

8.     Facilities and provides leadership to the building-level educational effectiveness teams by healing them to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate school effectiveness activities and staff development programs.

9.     Provides the leadership necessary to assist in assessing, planning and implementing curriculum improvement programs.

 

10.  Assumes responsibility for overseeing the process for evaluating and reporting student and staff opinions on the PK-5 program.

 

11.  Assumes responsibility for overseeing the implantation of School District #2159 goals at the PK-5 level.

 

12.  Assists in coordinating, supervising and evaluating the PK-5 Extended Day/Year Programs.

 

13.  Assists in the coordination and implementation of all Federal Title programs.

 

14.  Assumes responsibility for overseeing the implementation of Minnesota Academic Standards at the K-5 level.

 

15.  Maintains liaison and active participation with educational leaders in elementary administration and curriculum and instruction at regional, state, and national levels.

 

16.  Maintains liaison active participation with community leaders and organizations.

 

17.  Other duties as assigned in reaction to the job goal.
