Position:  Special Education Instructional Coach (1.0)
Work Schedule: 8 hours, Monday-Friday, 194 days
Start Date: 8/26/2019

Required Qualifications:
1.  Valid MN teaching license in special education, Birth to 12+ student level;
2.  Minimum five years of direct related teaching experience;
3.  Strong working knowledge of Minnesota Academic Standards;
4.  Strong working knowledge of modifications and adaptations across curricular areas;
5.  Experience with curriculum development and implementation;
6.  Willingness to work with, and instructionally coach, all classroom teachers, B-12+;
7.  Knowledge of educational philosophy, teaching methods/approaches, current researched best practices and strategies;
8.  Exceptional oral and written communication skills;
9.  Strong intercultural competence;
10. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with a diverse community, staff members, parents and the public;
11. Strong working knowledge of special education due process compliance.

Desired Qualifications:
1. Advanced degree or certification in educational leadership, professional development or instructional coaching;
2. Experience working in multiple grade levels;
3. Comfortable with collecting and interpreting data;
4. Prior successful experience in an urban setting working with a diverse student population is highly desirable.

Major Areas of Accountability:
1. Work with special education leadership team to develop, coordindate, and deliver professional growth activities in content/program areas;
2. Provide one-on-one teacher assistance in content/program areas;
3. Provide focused, sustained training that assists teachers in meeting data-driven. collaboratively determined instructional goals in content/program areas;
4. Interface with all appropriate personnel to ensure program coordination, implementation in content/program areas and student success;
5. Participate in professional development as required to perform and improve required skills in content/program areas;
6. Participate in curriculum development and revisions in content/program areas;
7. Assist teachers in obtaining instructional materials for curriculum development and implementation;
8. Perform all other tasks and duties as assigned.

Early Childhood Family Education Manager

Job Summary: Performs professional work providing leadership for birth to 5 year old programming, evaluating staff and programs according to community and district needs, collaborating with county, state or other agencies to maximize the benefits to students, and related work as apparent or assigned.

Essential Functions:Oversees and coordinates in partnership aspects of programming for Early Childhood Programs; including Early Childhood Family Education, Preschool, Early Childhood Screening, and Outreach Services.
Evaluates and observes early childhood staff and programs. Interacts with parents, staff and students at sites, events and community. Assists with parent and/or staff concerns about students; handles program communications.
Designs classes, manages the allocation of classes per location.
Participates in collaborative work group meetings; implements projects.
Plans, approves expenditures and administers budgets for early childhood family education, school readiness and preschool in partnership with Lead Coordinator.
Plans and facilitates staff development activities with program representatives.
Assists with writing the program goal; organizes building goals with program staff development activities.
Collects and organizes programming and classroom data to present reports to staff, families or administrators.
Designs courses and allocates class locations, creates staff assignments, and manages student enrollment.
Collaborates and coordinates community partnerships within Early Childhood Programs.
Develops, assigns, and coordinates professional development for Early Childhood Programs and staff.
Gathers and analyzes data to support mission of Early Childhood Programs, assess student achievement, build capacity of programming, and develop teacher growth.
Oversees and manages the Parent Advisory Council for Early Childhood Programs.
Prepares and submits internal and external reports to local, state and federal agencies as needed or upon request.
In attendance or on-call whenever programs or services are running, regularly includes nights and weekends.
