Mankato Area Public Schools is seeking candidates for Assistant Principals for East and West High Schools beginning July 1, 2019. MN licensure as a K-12 Principal is required. Mankato Area Public Schools is a growing, diverse, and innovative school district committed to the success of all students. The Assistant Principal will be a collaborative instructional leader supporting staff, students and families. East High School serves grades 9 through 12 and has a current enrollment of 1,104 and West High School serves grades 9 through 12 and has a current enrollment of 1,216 students.

Payroll Specialist

Job Summary:
Reviews, organizes and processes the District payrolls in a manner which ensures the confidential treatment of all information and consistently delivers timely, accurate payrolls, including the completion/submission of all required and/or requested reports.

Essential Functions of the job include the following:
– Perform the processing of payroll, distribution of checks, and reconciliation of related records to ensure timely accurate and conformance with internal control guidelines and Federal and State regulations for payroll reporting requirements.

– Communicate regularly with employees, Human Resources, and vendors to resolve issues related to payments and compensation, Federal and State income tax withholding, social security, and retirement plans; research issues and communicate results to individuals involved.

– Conducts periodic audits to ensure the accuracy of all payroll transactions, benefits, and deductions.  Reconcile District payroll reports with billings or reports generated by other agencies (i.e. TRA, PERA, 403(b) vendors, Federal and State agencies, etc.).  Enter and verify payroll account code adjustments as necessary to ensure payroll transactions match correct district budget account codes.

– Preparation of semi-monthly, quarterly, and annual Federal and State payroll tax returns, W-2’s and related information. Interpret laws, monitor and assure compliance with Federal and State regulations and payroll reporting requirements.  Train and collaborate payroll procedures with payroll department staff.  Recommend new or modified procedures, which will contribute to more effective and efficient application of available resources.

– Assist in preparation for negotiations by preparing materials, research, and participation in negotiation planning sessions.  Participate on District’s negotiation team at the bargaining table.  Ability to cross train in all aspects of human resources information system (HRIS) with capacity to perform benefits processing.  Train employees on Employee Access.
