Health and Safety Manager

Job Description: The Health and Safety Manager is responsible for implementing all procedures that are applicable to the district in connection with environmental, health and safety matters. The manager will provide support to Faribault Public Schools as a focal point on activities related to environmental, health and safety planning and preparedness – internal and externally.   This position is for 260 days per year. Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Manage all environmental, health and safety related issues which include all health recommendations for staff and students (including Pre-K, K-12, Adult Education, and Community Education programs)
Train staff annually and as needed on subjects relevant to mandatory policies and outside agencies.
Lead efforts for evacuation plans and set up annual trainings; fire drills and maintain escape routs, Fire Marshall and OSHA checks, severe weather drills, etc.
Perform monthly audit of equipment and resources; AED, eyewash stations, emergency lights, etc.
Collaborate with administration to cultivate pandemic response culture; serve as the district level pandemic response subject matter expert.
Collaborate with district administration on effective and safe cleaning strategies; ensuring that all facilities are safe and healthy for staff, students and families.
Instruct on the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, goggles, face shields, face masks for the activity being performed.
Coordinate and maintain PPE equipment inventory; daily checks of inventories to promptly address any shortages of cleaning supplies, including washing stations, soap and/or hand sanitizer.
Appraise and implement new environmental, health and safety regulations as they relate to district operations.
Perform internal checks for lead in water, indoor air quality and asbestos concerns.
Participate in the districts advisory committees as they pertain to position.
Collaborate for general workers compensation efficiencies.
Execute community outreach to form partnerships for funding and or grants to enhance health and safety of the district.
Coordinate actions as a result of students and/or staff as they relate to environmental, health and safety concerns.
Develop and enforce district protocol to determine when staff and/or students may come back to school.
Create and manage plans for students and staff to occupy healthy and safe buildings.
Monitor plans and make suggestion to the superintendent and or director of buildings and grounds for improvements; create, manage and review site specific pandemic compliance programming.
Post, in areas visible, hygienic practices and physical distancing recommendations; including materials from MDH, MDE, CDC.
Serve as the internal incident manager, ensuring that emergencies and injuries are properly managed.
Any other duties in connection with environmental, health and safety matters.

Director of Finance and Operations

Job Description:    Faribault Public Schools is seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time Director of Finance and Operations to begin August 2024 to help lead our work through the guidance of Our District Playbook.  The successful candidate for this cabinet-level position is responsible for the financial well-being of the school; preparing and enforcing an annual operating budget of over $50 million and ensuring that all regulations and procedures are followed, and may supervise all of the facility’s operations including food services, transportation and buildings and grounds; providing leadership for planning, development and evaluation of each area.  The Director provides robust support to various committees serving as either the chair or contributing member (Insurance, Wellness, Finance, Facilities, Health and Safety).

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,300 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. District sites include one early childhood center, three elementary schools K-5, one middle school 6-8, one high school 9-12, one area learning center 9-12 and one education center for adult learners.

Essential Functions:   Plans, supervises, directs and initiates recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools concerning all finance matters. Directs, organizes and participates in district accounting, negotiations and budget preparation and control; directs payroll operations, revenue recording and funds disbursement, and central receiving/supply offset. Reviews and communicates working capital investments, and cash flow information with the Superintendent of Schools and School Board. Oversees MARSS reporting and enrollment analysis.  Collaborates with all administrative departments to ensure robust inter-departmental communication, budgeting and protocols. Prepares statistical research for projects in short- and long-range planning and decision making. Prepares short and long term financial projections. Initiates and administers contracts between the District and vendors relating to, but not limited to, licenses, insurance, transportation and food services providers.

EL TEACHER – 3.0 FTE

Job Description: Three (3) EL Teacher 1.0 FTE –  EL Teacher to work as a part of our Middle School team to provide differentiated support for our diverse group of English Learners and perform the possible duties outlined below.  This position commences with the 2024-2025 school year on Monday, August 19, 2024.

Essential Functions:

Manage some of the 6-8th grade dual identified EL/SPED caseload, as needed.
Teach EL classes, as needed (levels 2.5-3.5).
Co-teaching in 6-8th grade math classes
Bilingual preferred but not necessary.
Work with the department chair to plan and implement new learning and strategies.
Build positive relationships with students and families.
Collaborate with content area teachers positively and effectively.
Work with literacy coaches to educate content area teachers on best-practices for ELs in the mainstream.

Duties: The Behavior Coach will be responsible for academic and behavioral intervention services for the school’s regular education at-risk population. The primary role of the Behavior Coach is to be pre-emptive so that more children have their social, emotional, and behavioral needs met in the general education classroom. This practice will reduce the number of referrals to Special Education. The Behavior Coach will work collaboratively with the school Principal to develop an effective In-School Personal Development program for the regular education of at-risk children by reinforcing and drawing positive attention toward replacement behaviors. Additional functions will include mentoring teachers who have groups of students that demonstrate: a) a lack of focus in instruction and participation, b) non-compliance to ordinary routines and school expectations, and c) an inability to self-regulate or inhibit tendencies to disrupt the learning environment.

Salary:  $133,847 – $154,176, DOQ, plus an excellent flex benefits package.
