Central Family Center & Equity Programming Principal

Job Summary:
Central Family Center & Equity Programming Principal manages the operation and functions and provides leadership to both early childhood programming at Central Family Center and district wide Equity programs and initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Central Family Center – Early Childhood Programs:

  • Plan, develop, supervise and evaluate programs and services to meet the diverse needs of parents and children (birth to age 5), including ECFE, ECSE, Preschool programs, School Readiness, Home Visiting and Early Childhood Screening.
  • Envision and implement new program initiatives through needs assessment, research, networking and collaboration to meet changing community needs.
  • Collaborate with other agencies and district staff (Student Services, Teaching and Learning and Principals) to assure programs are coordinated, integrated and aligned district-wide
    Recruit, hire, supervise, and evaluate staff for early childhood and family programs.
  • Provide instructional leadership, professional development, implementing staff development plans, assuring curriculum and assessment match best practice and align with district and program goals, conducting team meetings and evaluating programs and staff.
  • Develop and implement early childhood and family program policies, systems and procedures for effective and efficient program delivery. Assure program meets quality and safety standards, requirements of various funding streams, as well as policies set by the Minnesota Department of Education and the District 720 School Board.
  • Observe and evaluate programs and instructors. Conduct program evaluation and use data to inform decisions in providing high quality and responsive programming
    Prepare, recommend and monitor budgets for all programs and complete financial and year-end reports as required.

Equity Initiatives and Programs:

  • Lead and supervise Equity department staff
    Collaborate with the Teaching and Learning Department to provide ongoing equity-specific learning for staff throughout the district and insure that teaching strategies and materials meet the needs of diverse learners
  • Partner with multiple district departments to foster systemic equity in the district
  • Create and manage programming designed to enhance opportunities for historically under-represented learners
    Design annual budgets and plans that align with the MN Desegregation Rule and meet Minnesota Department of Education guidelines
  • Manage Educational Equity budget
  • Promote hiring and retention of diverse staff
    Assist in mediating conflicts regarding inter-cultural issues
    Foster relationships with parents and the larger community
    Other duties as assigned

5th Grade teacher

Ideal candidate must have the ability to calmly and effectively deal with a variety of circumstances.

Extra-curricular coaching and advisor positions are available, but not a requirement for this position. Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the Master Agreement between Foley Public Schools and Foley United Educators.
