PACE Paraprofessional at Central Family Center. 4.5 hours/day Monday – Thursday 11:30 – 4:00.

Job Summary:
This paraprofessional position assists the ECFE instructors in preparing the adult and children’s classrooms.  The classroom assistant responds to children’s and parents needs as they arise in the classroom.

Ready the classroom for learning using the instructor’s daily lesson plan. Maintain an orderly and healthy classroom by performing, cleaning and organizing duties
Prepare materials to be used by the children and/or parents
Welcome parents and children and take attendance
Model appropriate behavior in interactions with children.  Assist students and parents with developmentally appropriate activities.
Assist the classroom staff in establishing and maintaining classroom limits and in assessing children’s needs using PBIS. Must be knowledgeable and use positive discipline techniques when dealing with children.
Lead small groups of children in appropriate activities.  Clean and set-up the classroom for the next class session.
Attends staff meetings, and participate in some professional development.  Contributes to the informal evaluation of the program. To meet, plan, and discuss as a team, the specific needs of the group as well as individual families.
