Position Summary:

  • The REACH Program is a voluntary, in-school program designed to assist students who may need support academically, socially and/or emotionally. The goal of the program is to help at-risk students experience success by learning new life skills to overcome barriers and challenges present in their lives. The REACH Program not only supports these students academically through differentiated instruction, but also helps the students to build skills necessary to reach high school graduation and become successful adults after graduation. Students in this program work closely with the team of Administration, Social Worker, Counselors and students’ families.

The acronym REACH describes the focus of the program:

  • Relationships – A safe place for students to belong and support each other.
  • Education – Academic support with the goal of graduation.
  • Accountability – A support network committed to helping students succeed.
  • Character – Skill-building activities that encourage positive academic and personal growth.

Qualifications:

Physical Therapist

Position Summary:

  • Under the direction of the Director of Special Services, the Physical Therapist provides services to children with special needs, ages birth to 21, in order for them to benefit from their program of special education instruction.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provides direct and indirect physical therapy services as specified in each students’ Individualized Education Program (IEP) plan.
  • Consults with teachers, school administrators, parents and others as appropriate, regarding students’ gross motor development.
  • Assesses the gross motor skills including the environmental accessibility of students referred for a special education evaluation.  Helps determine the need for environmental adaptations and physical therapy.
  • Assesses and makes environmental and other adaptations to allow students to access and benefit from their program of specialized instruction.
  • Provides training to special education paraprofessionals, and others as appropriate, in carrying out day-to-day activities designed to enhance the motor functioning of students.
  • Maintains accurate record of therapy sessions, consultations and other pertinent activities.
  • Supports parents of children with disabilities in understanding the role of physical therapy services in schools and how to access school or community resources.
  • Adapts, modifies or recommends specialized equipment to facilitate student performance.
  • Supports classroom personnel to effectively use classroom based technology and assistive technologies to facilitate student success.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements :

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited school with a current physical therapy license from the Minnesota State Board of Physical Therapy is required.

Assistant Principal – High School

Faribault Public Schools is a rural Pre-K through Adult School District located about 50 miles south of the Twin-Cities. The school district currently serves approximately 3,700 students in Faribault and our surrounding areas within our community of 23,000 citizens within the city limits. District sites include one early childhood center, three elementary schools K-5, one middle school 6-8, one high school 9-12, one area learning center 9-12 and one education center for adult education.

Summary of Job Duties:  This position will assist the Principal in leading the school’s educational and instructional programs, operations and personnel to ensure the educational, emotional, social and physical needs of all students.  The candidate selected for this position works with the principal and other support personnel in order to build positive relationships with students, families, staff and community members, collaborate and communicate effectively to facilitate meaningful relationships, and provide innovative leadership through our educational offerings.  This position is 225 days per year, beginning on July 1, 2024.

Student Achievement Advisor

Full Time  195 days/8 hrs per day – 2024-25 school year

Duties:  Attendance & Participation at site level meetings, district level meetings, district-wide staff development and/or trainings as related to position. Attendance & Participation on site School Improvement Planning (SIP) Team, site Response to Intervention (RIT) team, and site Cultural Responsive Teaching (CRT) Team. Participate in school activities such as, but not limited to: Student-Family-Teacher Conferences, WEB, Arts and Academic Celebrations, etc. Participate in student non-instruction time by being actively visible in cafeteria (breakfast & lunch), hallways (before and after school), passing between classes and recess.  Collaboration with AH CRT District Support Team. Meet with site level administrative team and/or principal and/or principal’s designee (as needed).  Develop and coordinate peer leadership programming at site and district level. Monitor specific data surrounding site and district School Improvement Planning (SIP) Goals. Act as a liaison for students and/or families of color between school and home. Provide assistance for new student transitions. Refer students and families to appropriate school personnel for further services and support beyond scope of Student Achievement Advisor. Other duties as assigned.

Salary:  $40,283; Salary with BA: $42,281; Salary with MA: $44,844.

Start Date:  8/26/24.
