Technology Assistant
Description: Technology Assistant at East Junior High. 7 hrs/day, 193 days/year. 7:30 am to 3 pm Monday-Friday. Grade 6 $17.54/hr Job Summary: Provide support in the area of technology for staff and students so that the overall district educational objectives may be achieved. *Completes tasks and projects on site following protocols as assigned by the Supervisor of Support and Technology Support Manager. *Supports building-level technology through the district Help Desk service and responds to staff requests. *Maintains systems including the installation of equipment and hardware/software upgrades following established protocols. *Supports existing technology including computer workstations, mobile devices, video/audio equipment and other peripheral devices. *Communicates and collaborates with the Technology Support Team to problem solve hardware, software, and network issues. *Remains current in software and hardware trends. *Answer the Help Desk phone number and provides assistance when able or devotes resources to remedy the staff’s technology issues. *Provide training for students and staff on software applications used by students. *Provide occasional coverage and supervision of Media Center/Learning Commons areas of building. *Assists with training on software applications utilized by staff in real time and through virtual or web-based training. *Assists in the development and upkeep of instructional manuals on hardware and software use. *Assists as needed in installing, building, upgrading, and maintaining assistive technology hardware and software for students and staff. e.g. Text to Speech *Preview individualized technology equipment, devices, computers, computer software, and other materials. *Aids in the implementation of new technology and information systems.
After School Program Instructor
Position: After School Program Instructor Math and Reading Instruction: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 4:30-6:30pm Enrichment Instruction: Thursday 4:30-6:30pm Summary: The After School Program Instructor will be responsible for connecting with the After School Coordinator to ensure proper instruction and curriculum for the Math and Reading. During enrichment time, the After School Instructor has an opportunity to develop his/her own enrichment program that fits the needs of the school and/or support another instructor. Responsibilities: *Instruct and support students in grades 2 to 8 with math and reading curriculum.
Transportation Safety Coordinator
DESCRIPTION: Provides direction, leadership, coaching, and mentoring of bus drivers. Provides classroom instruction and behind the wheel training for all new applicants. On an ongoing day to day basis, provide a direct comprehensive safety and training program for all vehicle drivers. Maintain required documents for audit and compliance with state certifications, district/state/federal requirements. Resolve concerns related to safe and efficient student transportation in collaboration with the Director of Transportation while maintaining confidentiality at all times. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned Conducts classroom and behind the wheel bus driver training for the purpose of presenting, reinforcing, and/or developing bus driver skills, mandated by state, federal and MN Department of Education rules and regulations. Evaluates performance of bus drivers and driver applicants for the purpose of ensuring that basic skills levels are met and are in compliance with state certification requirements. Informs bus drivers and driver applicant (e.g. rules, regulations, laws procedures, etc.) for the purpose of providing information, requesting follow-up action and/or implementing procedures. Maintain training manual and electronic documents, files and records for the purpose of documenting activities and/or providing an up-to-date reference and audit trail. Monitor and conduct school bus emergency evacuation drills. Oversees bus driver licensing, training requirements, and certificate status for the purpose of ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. Participates in meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions. Prepares a variety of documents and reports (e.g. training handouts, safety information, guidelines, driver evaluations, etc.) for the purpose of providing information and/or training materials to bus drivers, other district personnel and outside agencies as required by established policies and/or regulatory guidelines. Schedules training and testing for the purpose of ensuring compliance with district policies and established regulatory requirements. Emergency procedures, mountain and adverse weather training included. Coordinates all bus drivers (e.g. employee concerns/problems, directing work, disciplining, employee performance appraisals, etc.) for the purpose of monitoring performance, providing for professional growth and ensuring department’s work goal are achieved in collaboration with the Director of Transportation. Perform duties as a Bus Driver as needed.
