Primary Objective:
This position will support the Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program, the District’s Curriculum Cycle of Continuous Improvement, as well as the development and implementation of Career Pathways (Route 622). Additionally, this position supports the use of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) activities in secondary buildings. This work requires collaboration with school leaders and teachers to maintain an equity-focused culture of collaboration, collective inquiry, evidence-based decision making, and continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:

Current MN Teaching License and at lease 3 years of successful classroom experience;
Knowledge of or willingness to learn about AVID and the impact of this program on student achievement and long-range outcomes;
Professional commitment to standards-based curriculum and professional learning based on student needs;
Experience in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation;
Evidence of personal credibility with staff and community;
Knowledge of or willingness to learn about academic standards and requirements;
Knowledge of or willingness to learn the impact of state and federal education legislation on district programs;
Demonstrated ability to independently complete projects on a deadline;
Experience with technology and data/evidence use to inform decision making;
Effective communicator with demonstrated group presentation skills.
Desired Qualifications:

MN teaching license or equivalent;
Evidence of collaboration with peers;
Experience in formal and informal leadership roles while a classroom teacher;
Experience as an AVID elective teacher, site coordinator, or tutor;
Experience or background in facilitating professional learning and proven success in using principles of adult learning
Proven experience working in partnership with diverse stakeholder groups;
Disposition of a reflective learner with a growth mindset.
Major Areas of Accountability:

AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination)Provide support to district and site staff teams in developing, implementing, and evaluating the AVID program;
Coordinate AVID and School Transition programs across multiple secondary buildings;
Assist with the logistical managment of AVID, including direct support for AVID coordinators at each secondary school;
Facilitate the hiring, training, scheduling, and evaluation of AVID tutors.
Secondary Curriculum & Career PathwaysAsssist in the implementation of structures and tools for aligning district curricular objectives, resources, technology, instructional frameworks, and assessments as part of the curriculum improvement process;
Provide support to the district’s Curriculum Coordinating Council;
Engage faculty, staff and administrators in reflective conversation protocols centered on student learning to promote and expand culturally and linguistically responsive practices;
Solicit and use student voice in the development, implementation, evaluation, and support of secondary curriculum & instruction;
Actively participate in Route 622 (career pathways) development;
Maintain web-based management tools that support curriculum;
MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Support)Assist in the development and implementation of secondary MTSS framework in five secondary buildings;
Provide adult learning on the topics of date/evidence use, class-wide and small group interventions, and best practices for scheduling & supporting secondary intensive interventions;
Teaching & Learning TeamEngage in ongoing personal/professional development in order to develop professional skills and maintain knowledge of applicable topics in the learning community;
Advocate for educational equity in regards to achievement gaps; opportunity gaps, disproportionality and participation gaps, especially among students of color and other non-dominant student groups;
Engage families and community members in collaborative, meaningful partnerships;
Complete other duties as assigned.

Long-Term Sub Preschool Teacher
