Position Description:
Buffalo-Hanover-Montrose Schools is seeking an Elementary School Principal who has the vision and expertise necessary to provide educational leadership at Northwinds Elementary School K-5.  Approximately 545 students, 40 licensed staff, and 30 classified staff attend and work at Northwinds Elementary School.

ISD 877 is a 45-minute drive northwest of the Twin Cities.  Approximately 5,707 students district wide attend 6 elementary schools, 1 middle school, 1 high school, 1 alternative high school and 1 transitions program.

Other Skills & Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of the policies, procedures, methods and techniques used for assessing sociological needs of individual students; thorough knowledge of federal and state mandates and local procedures and regulations relating to social and community support programs; thorough knowledge of the principles and methodology of providing effective therapy for students; thorough knowledge of the practices, methods and techniques used in the special education process for diagnostic and evaluative procedures; thorough knowledge of federal and state mandate and local procedures and regulations relating to special education program; thorough skill in the use of personal computers and related software packages, hardware and peripheral equipment; ability to establish and maintain standards of behavior; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to use data to make decisions; ability to work with and through other school personnel, parents and community agencies; ability to communicate and establish effective working relationships with students, parents, teachers and administrators.  Consistent and reliable attendance.

School Psychologist – Delano

School Psychologist for Meeker & Wright Special Education Cooperative (MAWSECO) serving Delano Public Schools, Delano, MN.

1.0 FTE Position for the 2018-2019 school year BACKGROUND INFORMATION: MAWSECO is an agency of seven member school districts (Annandale, Dassel-Cokato, Delano, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Litchfield, Maple Lake and Rockford) that have joined together to provide services in the area of special education. Additionally, MAWSECO is home to multiple Federal Setting IV Programs and provides the educational services for treatment centers and residential facilities. The mission of the Cooperative is to provide quality special education leadership, services and support to its seven member school districts’ staff, students and families as well as other agencies/districts that purchase its services. The MAWSECO central office is located in Howard Lake, MN which is west of the metro and south of St. Cloud.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (but not limited to):

– Conducts individual psychological assessments and evaluates students for special education needs
– Shares evaluation information with parents, school personnel and other agencies and makes programming recommendations for students
– Contributes actively as an integral member of the assessment team (Delano Public Schools has an assessment teacher model)
– Works with team members on the planning and implementation of intervention strategies
– Cooperatively develops, implements and monitors individual plans and programs for specific students as well as provides staff and parent consultation and training on implementation of individualized plans
– Facilitates communication between administrators, teachers and parents regarding student needs
– Promotes and maintains high safety, ethical and confidentiality standards
– Adheres to due process law
– Develops and provides professional development for member districts and MAWSECO special education programs.
