Job Summary: Individual coordinates work of building custodians; implements and follows preventive maintenance program; maintains budget and records, repairs equipment, and is responsible for the overall condition of the building and grounds. Report to the Buildings and Grounds Manager. Individual must be knowledgeable and experienced in HVAC, minor electrical, outside landscaping and plumbing. Individual must be able to multi task and respond to emergencies during off-work hours. Must be able to supervise and direct work of other employees. POSTING #: 1370 WORK HOURS: 8 hours per day, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.; Monday through Friday; year round position JOB DUTIES: *Supervise, communicate and prioritize with staff to respond to the long term and daily needs of the building. *Delegate daily work assignments for staff, including cleaning schedules, special assignments, overtime and after school / community events. Organize and assist in setup and tear down of equipment and supplies needed for all events. *Inspect and maintain sprinkler system, playground equipment, and sidewalks. *Assess and respond to daily facility, equipment and cleanliness issues in a professional and efficient way. *Maintain, order and properly store supplies and equipment to effectively and efficiently meet the needs of facility and custodial staff. *Monitor and handle general repair of plumbing, electrical, air handler and air conditioner units. Includes performing minor repair, scheduling, coordinating and assisting outside contractors for major repairs, maintenance, and installation of equipment and facility needs. *Ensure all safety equipment is intact and functional, including, but not limited to boilers, eyewash stations, emergency lights, fire alarm systems, exit lights and fire extinguishers. *Assist with maintaining a safe egress to the building in inclement weather, including plowing, shoveling and disseminating salt/sand products on the sidewalks in accordance with school/district practice. *Clean classrooms, common areas, hallways and bathrooms (includes, but not limited to vacuuming, removing garbage, shampooing carpets, scrubbing floors, and seasonal strip/waxing, etc.) *Communicate openly and honestly with supervisors to maintain good relations and ensure your needs, as well as the needs of students, staff, and community are met. *Maintain licensure (boiler) and provide appropriate services to meet facility needs. *Manage and supervise custodial staff, which includes scheduling, monitoring and evaluating, as well as successful time card completion, submission, and approval in accordance with district payroll procedures and timelines.

Music Teacher (0.50 FTEs) Prairie Winds Middle School A part-time (0.50 FTEs) position as a Music (Teacher is available at Prairie Winds Middle School beginning January 30 and ending June 2, 2017. Coordinator Special Education
The Coordinator provides support across the cooperative and assists in planning, assessing, developing, and implementing special education procedures and programs in the member districts of Southern Plains and within Southern Plains programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * Oversees the operations of special education. * Provide consultation to individual teachers or groups as needed or requested. * Provide instructional leadership to staff servicing students with special needs. * Evaluate needs of member districts related to special education and support strategies to improve special educations. Develop goals to facilitate implementation of researched-based quality indicators in special education programs. * Facilitate trainings and initiatives across the cooperative to improve services for students with special education. * Provide leadership regarding special education paraprofessionals including hiring, evaluation, scheduling, training, and related. * Serve as contact person or resource when staff have concerns about programs, curriculum, referrals, parents, other agencies, and other areas relevant to special education. * Lead the process of data collection of information to Southern Plains and the Minnesota Department of Education as well as disseminate information from Southern Plains and the Minnesota Department of Education. * Facilitate the effectiveness and efficiency of special education programs within the cooperative. * Performs other duties as assigned. This position will be working with the Blue Earth Area District as well as United South Central in Wells, MN. Business travel is required. Work is performed during the traditional school year and includes some additional days during the summer.
