Assistant Superintendent Eastern Carver County Schools District Education Center Position Start Date: 7/1/2017 Banded/Graded: D-7-4 Salary Range: $178,500 – $182,500 Screening Process to Begin 1/30/2017 Reports To: Superintendent (and is responsible to that person for the proper interpretation and performance of duties and responsibilities of the position) Position Description: See awebsite Education/Certification Requirements: *Ph.D., Ed.D, or Specialist preferred, Master’s degree required, major in educational administration with emphasis in instructional programming E-12. *One or more of the following Minnesota Department of Education license areas required: K-12 principal, elementary principal, secondary principal, or curriculum coordinator. *Hold or be eligible for licensure as a superintendent in Minnesota. Experience Requirements:*Successful teaching and principal experience required. *Successful experience in a district level position preferred. *Professional experiences consistent with the responsibilities of the position. Benefits: As defined by the parameters of the non-aligned directors to include: (See note below) *The amount of $592.08 per month ($7,105.00 annually) will be available for the assistant superintendent to distribute as he/she designates among benefits (health insurance, dental insurance, supplemental life insurance, accidental death or dismemberment insurance, long term disability insurance, flex) or cash. The Assistant Superintendent must enroll in at least single health coverage. *Term life insurance policy equal to $100,000.00, the employee may purchase additional coverage (accidental death and dismemberment or supplemental life.) *$2,000.00 matching contribution to a tax sheltered annuity annually. *$2,000.00 annual professional development fund, if preferred the full amount can be carried over to the following year. *District pays for annual membership dues for one state and one national professional association. *Twenty five (25) days of vacation are granted per year. Twenty five (25) is also the maximum accrued vacation days eligible for carry over. Unused vacation days are compensated upon separation from employment. *Twelve (12) Holidays are provided each year. *Twelve (12) sick days are granted per year, no maximum accumulation *Traditional leaves such as child care, bereavement, religious, and jury duty. *Compensation for unused sick leave, after five years of service, upon separation from employment based on years of service and days accrued up to a maximum of 130. *After reaching the age of 55 and six years of service, employee is eligible for a district annual contribution of $5,930.00 to a Post-Retirement Health Care Savings Plan until said employee is eligible for Medicare or for five years, whichever is longest.
