Delano Middle School (DMS) is looking for a dedicated professional with a focus on individualized student achievement and reflective growth to assist our team as a special education teacher mostly serving students with emotional and/or behavior concerns. The successful candidate will have experience in providing data driven supplemental and resource services with demonstrated student growth and achievement. It is expected that the successful candidate will serve in the following capacities: Collaboration with grade level teachers to plan accommodations and modifications Facilitate effective communication between parents and school Efficient and accurate completion of due process paperwork (Delano Schools uses SPED Forms) Proactive positive behavioral support planning Serve the DMS community through committee participation and leadership Coordinate SPED services and evaluations with members of the Child Study Team Supervise and direct paraprofessionals

Teach and case manage students receiving special education services at New Dominion School (NDS). NDS is a contracted non-public school operating in conjunction with Gerard Academy, a residential treatment facility for children and adolescents. Responsibilities include creating a positive and supportive classroom climate, engaging in a variety of instructional techniques and behavior management strategies that insure effective implementation of student IEP’s, assess educational and treatment needs of the students, provide instruction on assigned subject areas, and provide crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed.

The successful candidate will have experience in providing intervention services in an RtI/MTSS approach. It is expected that the successful candidate will serve in the following capacities: Provide leadership on the DMS Student Success Team (RtI) Collaborate with 5th and 6th grade teachers to plan intervention strategies Service 7th and 8th grade students in reading interventions Teach seven sections of a one trimester ‘Communication Arts’ elective course in collaboration with the media integrationist. Model data-driven decision making processes
