SALARY/CONTRACT:  A competitive compensation and benefits package will be negotiated commensurate with experience and qualifications. The contract length is negotiable as provided in Minnesota statute.

Online Learning Coordinator – Falcons Online Academy

Summary of Job Duties:
The 7-12 Online Learning Coordinator leads the ongoing development and coordination of our 7-12 Falcons Online Academy.  The Coordinator will support teaching, learning, student development, and organizational operations. The Coordinator will develop and oversee district-wide programming, including policies, procedures, budgets, services, and facilities while working collaboratively with administration to promote high-quality, equitable educational opportunities within Falcons Online Academy.

Essential Functions:

Creates, executes, and monitors implementation of Falcon Online Academy for 7-12 online learning within Faribault Public Schools.
Coordinates the development, implementation, and evaluation of all online instructional programs, including credit recovery.
Researches and implements evidence-based approaches to online learning and ensures that practices implemented in FPS are appropriately matched to the needs of students.
Maintain an aligned and viable online curriculum connected to in-person learning opportunities.
Coordinate curriculum-writing teams when necessary and distribute any updates to all Online Instructors.
Develops partnerships and maintains relationships with service industry experts to ensure the quality of products and services utilized in FPS.
Works with online instructors to ensure quality of instruction and adherence to policies and procedures.
Maintains a visible presence for teachers and students – either online or onsite at virtual learning labs.
Monitors enrollment and re-enrollment processes, student progress, pacing, and completion rates, ensuring that targets are met.
Communicate with parents, families stakeholders, and support staff as needed to ensure the success of students and programming.
Works with Special Education, EL, and other wrap-around services to ensure individual student needs are met within online programming.
Analyzes and uses data from online learning programs to ensure continuous improvement and growth within online programs.
Designs and facilitates training for all district distance learning facilitators and teachers in addition to providing ongoing support and training to facilitators and teachers as needed.
Reviews teacher-student communication logs from the student management system.
Prepares and submits enrollment and attendance reports as mandated by the State.
Promotes, provides, and supports professional development through training, in-service, and other development
Attends training sessions and conferences to keep abreast of current practices and legal issues.
Maintains a network of peer contacts through professional organizations.
Promotes high standards and strategies and scaffolds to help students achieve those standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Dean of Students 1.0 FTE – Lincoln Elementary School

General Definition of Work:
The Dean of Students will support the operations of the school overseeing the student management, behavior and attendance. Incumbent will be responsible for student management as outlined by the building principal. This position will observe and interact with individuals, groups and communities to assist with the healthy functioning of the students at the school. This key team member will collaborate with the principals and other support personnel in order to build positive relationships with stakeholders, collaborate and communicate effectively through a variety of methods, provide leadership of behavior management and supervision; facilitate the resolution of conflict; plan, organize and manage time and resources, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Principal. This position will commence with the 2024-25 school year on July 1, 2024 at Lincoln Elementary Schools working a 210 day contract per year.

Essential Functions:Assist the building Principal in establishing, implementing and evaluating effective interventions for increasing student success and achievement to build a positive environment for achieving educational outcomes.
Assists the building Principal as an instructional leader in overseeing programs; collaborate with the team, collaborate with the counseling departments, oversee student behavior and student management as directed by building principal, oversee student conduct and attendance, assist in leading curriculum and planning within building.
Monitor and communicate student progress with students, families, administrators and staff.
Support growth of students while working towards positive citizenship, improving their academic and behavior skills and abilities.
Analyze academic and behavior data collected from various records to help determine effective academic and behavioral interventions.
Serve as a member of various building teams and act as a liaison; assists staff, students and families in understanding building and district policies, procedures and requirements.
Create an environment where children from diverse backgrounds are comfortable and experience success.
Stay current with best practices research and strategies.

Job Summary:

This is a rewarding in-person and online teaching position working with adult learners (age 17 or older, no longer enrolled in high school) in the academic areas of GED, Adult High School Diploma, English as a Second Language, Digital Literacy, and Basic Skills instruction in the areas of reading, writing, and math.

Responsibilities include lesson planning and instruction, conducting ongoing assessment, monitoring student attendance, collaborating with other staff, and keeping student records.

Qualifications:

Minnesota Teaching License is required

Experience with online instruction and a variety of online instructional tools

Ability to engage learners in both the online and in-person learning environments

Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams

Experience working with multicultural populations and English language learners is preferred, but not required
